We have all watched him play. No one will trade for him at even 50%. He is deficient in all areas of the game except cheating to score an occasional goal. Bad on power play, cant kill penalties, does not compete, is not tough, never in own zone long enough to be considered bad. He scores when on bad teams and is a bad guy to have around. One of the few things Kruger got right was benching him.
-
We will never win with him. Horrible influence on team as he floats around and competes when he feels like. These numbers are Palatable
-
this is a good trade. Was hoping for it. Byrom >>>>> Mitts.
-
I think this is a certainty. As of a couple years ago sabres had lost 300 million since he purchased team. That number has only gone up with no line of sight to either profitability nor winning. Lord help us when he passes away. Not sure there is an angel owner to keep team in buffalo. Not one fortune 500 company HQ'd in Buffalo. Population dropping fast. Taxes going up. Houston Sabres? KC Sabres. Would rather keep sabres than bills...

the only sabre who is untouchable is Dahlin. Everyone should be on table except him. -
pathetic to lock the skinner thread.

This article makes it sound like he is multiple all star. He plays way too much on perimeter. This idea that he is tough is silly. "Los Angeles Kings center Quinton Byfield tried to intimidate one of the Sabres’ defensemen last week, only to be shoved so hard by Greenway that Byfield moved several feet toward the Kings’ bench. When rookie winger Zach Benson was hit from behind Wednesday night in Montreal, Greenway delivered a viscous cross-check to put the Canadiens on notice." Evidence he is tough is shoving a guy and a cross check. That does not make you tough. When we play tough teams like Islanders and Carolina, where is he? Where is he when teams target Dahlin? If one produces at his level, in order to be tough one must fight more than 8 times in a career. He is not tough, intimidates no one, does not produce and does not fight. He is a good penalty killer? He has 9 goals on the year. 9 goals on a bad team.

and krebs gets to play with him and we criticize krebs.

No offense Bill Hoppe/Olean Times Herald, but do you know what offense is?

it is sickening. watch Granato press conferences. He kisses their butts. Says their names back to them when they ask question. They do not challenge him when he says BS. -
watched Yzerman whole career. He was clueless in defensive zone till bowman. He focused on it so much he was not scoring for a couple months. Whole team fed off of Yzerman sacrificing offense for D though. Started scoring again as part of team instead of his individual skills.
-
sorry for back to back, but i want Peca for next year. I have taken to watching Granato press conferences. He is a complete toe suck to media. Uses their first names, philosophizes to keep them on his side. Media should be all over him at this point. Asking very pointed questions around him saying same thing game after game with no buy in from players. He has no strategy game to game which is why we get killed for first ten minutes., has clearly lost players and has no idea how to fix it. A very bad coach.
-
in Detroit, Yzerman completely changed his game for Bowman to become a relentless 200 foot player in order to win the cup. He struggled for a bit and then became a top 5 player in the league after changing his game which he never was before. He had a lot of points but was incomplete player. Perrault was Bowman's best player and, well I liked watching him, but his 200 foot game was less than ideal. After watching Yzerman do that I wondered if Perrault could have done same thing...

Opinions Wanted: Controversy in a mens hockey league

She is looking for attention. Professional victims are all over. -
What does he bring again? Besides miss a good chunk of the year his play has been uneven at best. Part of that is lack of defensive commitment from players/coaches, but some of that is on him. Beaten one on one regularly. Standing around. Bad gaps on rushes. Not physical except for riding guys off puck more than being physical. There is difference between being injured and hurt in pro sports. Injured you can play through, but if you are hurt you cannot play. If you are a soft player injuries take you out of lineup and you get reputation for being soft especially from other players. I bet players are already talking about his softness. Players on Sabres especially. Dahlin plays injured all the time. Compare him to Samuelson: Dahlin plays more minutes. Dahlin is much more physical. Dahlin is targeted for physical play by other team as he is our best player by far. Blocks shots etc... He does not miss much time.
-
Schoenfeld played a very physical game and fought people frequently from what iI remember. Mule is not physical, does not fight and plays in a much less physical era.
-
He is really soft. Twoish years in league and he has missed what, half available games at this point? We knew there was risk in that long term contract but good grief he should be injury prone at end of it. Odd how he keeps getting hurt. He is not overly physical as he rides guys into the boards but is not throwing his body around recklessly. Blocks shot, but so do many defenseman who do not miss time like him.
-
This. We gave big ice time to guys who never earned it. Now power and samuelson are struggling with basic defense. We have always needed a couple vets to play with dahlin and power. especially power. he has taken huge step back this year.
-
Need a new head coach who holds players accountable. Two games in a row where Mitts has gone brain dead and given up puck in own zone for a goal. A period of watching for something like that is appropriate, but Granato throws them right back. We play with zero emotion or effort. Perimeter play for all forwards except Thompson who sometimes drives to net. We have some good young players who desperately need a strong hand to guide them. Instead we have a philosopher coach who has zero strategic or tactical skill. He clearly has lost the team as they do not respond to his challenges

doent even remember topic. The percolate comments are gold

Stultze was taken off powerplay. They now have old school type coach who will take away ice time not a philosopher coach like Granato. Will they call up Kurlich with Skinner out? Complain again how sabres bid against themselves to give skinner 9 million a year AND a no movement clause. No one else was interested in him. Just boggles the mind. Rant over. I dont live near any Sabres folks and Brothers and i are tired of talking about the Sabres. -
do not group dahlin with the rest of these players. he has always worked hard. his frustration level must be off the charts. I think he is the one that needs to start holding everyone else accountable. Our only elite player on sabres and has been stuck in heck since he came into league. At some point he will want a trade. Thompson is playing like skinner now. if skinner is not accountable why should Thompson? both floaters.

Official :WHL Trade Matt Savoie is being traded to MooseJaw

missed the beginning of this year too and just got hurt at juniors.. He did not play against Germany at WJC Equals: he has missed considerable time to injury both years. Are you related to him? The emotional response is silly and belongs on Redditt not this board. -

he has gotten hurt every year since we drafted him. Narrative is true. -
he is a VERY SOFT player. Looks physically weak out there. Coaching him to show the effort needed of a dman is part of it. his play this year is worthy of being a healthy scratch for a couple games. bad passing, low effort, out of position in dzone.... fits right in with others besides Dahlin.
