I will judge him more next year, after a summer to fully mend and get more acclimated with the team. Right now, he's probably being told to go show a physical presence and fit in. No issues. Next year, he'll have 2 solid linemates on the 3rd or 4th line and know he's part of something long term towards helping the team become a regular participant in the playoffs.

Silly. They can only get an A if they went for big names...which was never going to happen with KA's explanation of their thinking. That means giving up picks and promising young prospects they just drafted recently. Chychrun was the only known name I was interested in. If Savoie and Kulich were needed to leave in order to get it done (according to the Buffalo News), then I don't blame KA for walking away. You dont draft them high to ship off before seeing them grow. You revisit the needs during the off-season. Everything I read about those 2 young guys is they are showing a lot at present. Round 1 guys can do that. Not blindly defending the company line but respecting KA's thinking.

Peterka broke out of a 26 game scoreless hole. Still like him a lot long term.. but it's not surprising when they lose their path for a while at this young stage of their career. He could sit. Jost could sit. I do think VO will be a trade chip during the summer. KO could be done. That opens up 2 spots for next year and maybe more. Loaded at the young forward position.

BTW - IS Ryan Johnson finally signing ? Is he an upgrade or another Bryson/Butcher type than is just holding a spot for someone ?

They have room to add in Vet FA. Bigger, more rugged defensemen or 2. I expect any forwards to be promoted from within. What Goalies will be out there is the question.
