So maybe 1 more year (last year of his contract) and then see what his agent requests ? Would he accept a lower line role ? Will he be used as a trade chip this off-season ? Lots of questions. Sabres do have a lot of youth that need a slot. Look at some posters, talking like Savoie, Kulich and a few others are already here.

Plus it's where he lives and could be his swan song game in front of family.

Looks like a guy that will take the place of Kyle O or Girgs. He's scored the last 2 games. That's better than a lot of our guys. He gets an off-season to figure out his future. Not hopeless.

It's great. More points indicates actual improvement with a lot more to work on. Now to work on fundamentals. Levi provides hope in goal. Maybe the others will improve but we'll see. I never expected to be in the playoff race this season, so I won't fall to pieces coming close. Too many warts that still need cures. Youth needs to hit the weight room and get tougher. Future looks bright.

Hustles but his shot always misses the net or he loses control of the puck. I'm glad he's helping assist on some goals lately, filling in for Tage.. I wouldn't give him another contract unless it was modest at best. There were far bigger expectations for him to score but I'm convinced he couldn't find an open net with a map. Snakebit player. Too many young forwards in the pipeline who have more upside.

Joki and Brysons slots are open for roster improvement next year. I have been down on Mitts since last year. I give him credit for his hustle and some passing but he blows so many opportunities with the puck being lost so often. Always shoots wide. To me, he's a 3rd, 4th liner on his best day and another contract offer should be modest at best, if they wish to keep him over a young guy who can actually shoot. . JMO. -

5-2 is a good thing. -
I saw Barrasso straight out of HS at 18. I had just finished college. Puppa a couple years later had a shutout in his first game straight to the NHL. It happens. I get it's rare and the standard cliches of restraint are easy to repeat. Spare me the Ullmark parallel of waiting until 25 to get playing time. Levi has played a lot of hockey the last couple of years and is far ahead of the curve. Not projecting 60 starts on the kid next year but he can share the duties with someone. His reactions and positioning are top shelf. Plus it may spark the team long term to work harder in their own end. The team started to gas near the end of the 2nd period and were in panic mode for much of the 3rd. (19 shots). He looked poised during the turmoil. JMO...He sticks.

He's #1 going forward. Debate over.

Yes he is. The only reason for him to be in Rochester is to eat a garbage plate at Nick Tahou's. -

Sabres store has brought out 400 old Larry Playfair #27 jerseys with Levi's name in marker on marking tape over Playfairs stitched name. -
Feel free to correct but while driving the wifey to work this morning, WGR had Paul Hamilton on. He said UPL would have to clear waivers now to be sent to Rochester. Levi in Rochester next year means it's still Comrie and UPL here next season. The Sabres starting Levi tonight shows they have doubts about that idea for next season. Injuries and inconsistent play will do that. Mentioned Ullmark and his early games in Buffalo, followed by 2 years in Rochester. Was 25 before he got the permament NHL roster spot. Makes it sound like they still need to shop for yet another Vet Goalie during the summer and figure out what they wish to do with UPL and Comrie. ugh..

Many are still making it ALL about the Goalie when the team hasn't played D in most every game this year.

Krebs should be with Skinner and Tuch while Tage is out. . JMO.

Any questions about Goalie, outside of Levi ? -
I'll watch and observe his ability and progress. I saw him in person twice at prospects camp and he stood out. Listening to the present day dart throwers means nothing to me. Chirp away.

Well he certainly looked like a future Sabre. I like how he kept moving around the net and had quick reactions to everything. Read he always hustled in Rochester. Sabres can use players of his ilk.
