Zadina sounds like he's getiing a 2 way deal AHL/NHL. Borderline guy who got a shot 2 years ago with 10 goals. No interest apparently.

He's still a kid. Needs to develop a mans body like all of the peach fuzz brigade.

The guy played decent in limited opportunities. Needed depth . No issues.

Senators and Wings seem to love FA and want to grab a quick elevation, which didn't happen for either. They continue to operate like that and one wonders if they have any actual future pipeline. Yet they are fawned over every off-season like clockwork. Dont get it.

Didnt work out on the PK but he was good at even srength against better lines. Kept knoking the puck off of players stiks and threw some nice passes into the slot. Hustles and something needs to be said about that. A smart waiver pickup who needs some better linemates.

Like the fact the Colorado Captain instantly handed him the cup and told him to take the first lap around the rink with it. He was there when they had a 46 point season and I did read despite his so called limitations, he laid out every shift and was looked up to by all the players.That counts and KA is no fool. A one year deal to get someone of his ilk in the locker room as a major get for a team loaded with young talent. Respect well deserved.

So it's down to goalie and this was just day 1. Look, we all have opinions and that's cool. I do believe KA is trying to fill the needs within the parameters of FA reality. Keeping the costs low knowing other big deals for our young guys are coming up. Some other guys avaailable want to get paid or wish to play elseware. It's not all equal. They talk to agents and many players have a short list that the Sabres are not on. I thought this FA markert was very thin and was surprised they even got these 2 Vets. Trades take time with teams wishing to get more than deserved...initially. If that's the route for a Vet Goalie, it may take time. I get that. KA hoisted a cup in 2006 He can probably see the team as a whole has to play better D if they wish to do more than just make the playoffs. The roster has to understand that also and look beyond stats to improve. Many are very young and still have a realistic upside beyond the present which is very encouraging. Like the Bills, this team was dreadful and non-competitive for so long. No one is settling for mediocrity but the improvement was so good last year. KA arrived to a bad situation with a rock bottom lost team and made trades that actaully returned value. So it's hard for me to crap on the guy when many in the NHL wanted nothing to do with us. He got the job which seemed thankless and is showing something. Will continue to monitor but right now he's AOK. Just my 2 cents.

So Clifton plays in the 2nd pairing ? 18-20 min a game Johnson in the 3rd pairing 17 min a game. Trying to help our top 3 from burning out. Vet leadership/stability.. I have no issues with either and don't give a damn about the $$. My checking account still balances.

I had heard some of the young guys who were in the Rochester playoffs (Kulich and others) may be excused from this camp.

I detest FA outside of bargains as some have listed above. Many do get rich and rarely live up to the deal. I'm guessing KA will be prudent for specific fits.

Let's show some patience with him and all our youth. So many buy the hype and want to run the car in 4th gear before the wheels are put on. Relax. Sabres now have strength in numbers when it comes to the pipeline. We need a small amount to emerge over time each year. Others can be used as trade chips if we have several with the same profile. All a long way off but that's what the draft is for. 2-4 years of development and hoping a few hit down the road. Not a big fan of overpaying in FA so I hope a couple trades can happen. Opener still 13-14 weeks away so I get to read the ususal panic stricken posters freaking out daily until moves are made.

Some are always promoting one of the young guys. Now a spot is open. Camp may be big for one of them to grab a spot.

I've gone several times. They cut it short sometimes and go to the secondary rink, which is closed to the public. Now it's just 60 minutes for most outside of the scrimmage. It's freaking super cold in there. Bring a sweater.

Trades were attempted bt KA as per Harrington but none happened league wide. Everyone wanted their 1st round pick. Pipeline restocking continues today.
