There still must be teams needing to become cap compliant. I'm sure many here know the teams. Prospects/picks for NHL players has to be a real possibility for the Sabres right now.

Funny how things change. A year ago, it was " OMG, we need More Goalies ! Doomed ! " ..and UPL goes out and plays better than anyone on the roster, keeping Levi in Rochester to improve..A good thing. Meanwhile, the rest of the team slumps. Surprising to a degree on all fronts. Now we have a whole new set of concerns with Lindy ( yes, I think that's a big improvement ) and a different roster. I get it. A lot of tougher, faster players added.. but no big goal scorers it seems..We'll see how it looks come camp. Can it work ?

Agreed. Our Summers have a few brief stretches of hot days but the vast majority are great from May until early October. I spend 5 months on my deck and consider that entire time " Summer ", which I can do in retirement. I lived in Maryland and Florida during my Military days. I detested those summers.

Trade: C Ryan McLeod - Oilers for Matt Savoie

Seems the company line is Savoie was seen as a winger and they needed a Center with speed. -

Agree completely but JC..at least he tried and didn't run it back again. A real fear prior. I'll give it a chance and think one more player is coming. -

Fan of True Grit. -
On a side note, when did the Hockey News become a clickbait site ? Every day, they have a "rumor" of the Sabres interested in a different player. Seems baseless.

I hope he plays well in Rochester and attributes all of his success to eating a Nick Tahou Cheeseburger garbage plate every day for lunch..

Agreed. Clifton can hit while china doll is injury prone.

We have cap room and a spot -- to get Tkachuk, what would you now give up?

Because he shoots right, unlike everyone else.

I didn't read he was soft at all. They(Edm) are in cap trouble and I wouldn't be surprised to see another trade with other teams with cap issues. -

Center on the 3rd line. Fine by me. Good size and speed. -

Sabres Draft #14: Konsta Helenius, 5'11" 189lb Center
Night Train replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
FWIW, the locals are impressed. Multiple talking heads mentioning how he stands out. May attend the 3 on 3 tomorrow morning to see for myself. -
Ruff trying to establish a culture ? Skinner was doing nothing for long stretches. Yes, they do need more. Hoping.

Teams are allowed to be 10% over the cap for the short term now. It's to give them time to redo deals, trade or cut. Should be easy for KA to ID those teams needing relief. Then ID some targets.

So I shouldn't break out my " Members Only " jacket from 40 years back ?

Come on, Sabres. Make a trade for a solid Vet forward. Boone Jenner would be my favorite but I'm open to other ideas. https://www.nhl.com/bluejackets/news/teammates-talk-about-all-star-boone-jenner
