I label it as a bad trade immediately because Ryan O'Reilly was a great player on a bad team and won a cup as soon as he got traded. What have the Sabres done? Nothing. Cup win > no playoffs = lost the trade Not only that, why do you have to trade a guy that says he losing his love for the game? Why is the only answer to get rid of him immediately? Why couldn't Botteril work with him to try to ease his discomfort? Maybe he did, I'm not sure. But O'Reilly wasn't wrong. The team was highly dysfunctional. It all starts at the top and unfortunately nothing has changed

Good win. Just start with a small streak. Even a five game winning streak puts them right back into it the thick of it. UPL looks great, imagine if he keeps this up. A good goalie can carry a team, we've all seen it. I'm not giving up yet -
The Sabres could sure use some guys like this. Looks like he'd beat the piss out of anyone who even looks at him sideways

Wow, PerreaultForever got the whole thread mad. Lol The playoffs are wide open this year. Any team remaining has a great chance Start with a win tomorrow. Go Bills

Make a trade to a team at or near a rebuild. Just spit balling, but how bout something like Cozens, a 1st for Braydon Point. Might take more or less I'm not a trade expert. I feel a rebuild coming for Tampa. Let's get someone with playoff experience who's always reliable Adams has the necessary tools

The WHOLE TEAM over thinks with the puck. Especially on shot attempts. Just brutal -

Peterka was awful today. Awful. He had at least 3 fans on shot attempts. Probably more -

Took a puck to the stomach and was clearly hurt, him icing it guaranteed a whistle and a stoppage of play. There was nothing wrong with him doing that. -

You say .916 like that's bad or something. That's not insane but it's upper echelon, easily. -

UPL looks solid granted the Canucks only have 14 shots, but still. Sabres holding they're own in an entertaining game so far against a very good team. Gotta solve Demko he looks good, too. Resurgence year for him. Tie it up. Plenty of time left Has an overtime feel to it -

Vancouver started off hot but the Sabres have turned the tide. Clearly outplaying them now Get the 1st goal. Do it -
He should have traded for a goalie last year. Still should this year How long can he bank all of these prospects and picks though, seriously. Makes some trades already

They need more loser points. They had 7 last year, which is on the low end. 2 more loser points and they're in the playoffs. They only have 4 this year, I consider that low end. Benefits teams like the Islanders who are clearly less talented than other teams but they have 10 loser points already. Also helps to have Sorokin and they do not change their structure. -
Definitely not a good thing. Skinner has his detractors around here, but he's at least been a consistent scorer. The Sabres can't have any more injuries if they want to go on a run. I'm more concerned with who they replace him with. I guess it's Oloffsson who I personally don't care much for, but it's better than some 160 pound rookie. Time for a trade Come on Adams, nows the time. He's had legitimate opportunities with these random injuries. He could inject some life into this team and the fans with a solid trade

3-3-1 is still better than 15-17-3 -

Agreed and that's why I said 3 minutes a night. Was referring to the likes of Savoie, Rosen. We need more grit, not more "fancy" guys -

The coaching staff needs to keep this grittier lineup together. No more Oloffsson, no more rookies playing 3 minutes a night. Keep the balance. Then they might see some actual change in the win column -

Atrocious giveaway by Cozens to set up Giroux for a perfect slap shot 5 hole, along the ice. Nah, not a bad goal given up by UPL there -

Would probly whoop Greenway, too. Greenway doesn't even fight that often -
I think it's far too soon to say that. Besides, Dahlin is 10x better offensively/defensively than Ristolainen could ever be. Or do you mean he is simply going to request a trade soon? Agreed on Clifton and Erik Johnson. They're doing what they're suppose to do

Am I Starting to Lose Interest in the NHL?
TageMVP replied to CallawaySabres's topic in The Aud Club
I fully understand the original poster. It truly is a bummer when your teams stink. I dont know about you guys, but when the Sabres win it just makes the rest of my life seem easier. Menial tasks aren't so menial anymore. It's such a great feeling seeing your team win. And it always stinks when they lose. 12 years is a lifetime in hockey. Here's hoping the full and unquestioned rebuild actually works. I'll be ecstatic when it does -
One would figure he should know how, already. He was a hard working 4th line type of player, when he played. He was on a cup winning team. Out of all the GMs previous during the last 12 years, he should theoretically have the most knowledge when it comes to building a team. That Carolina team was balanced top to bottom. They added key players at the trade deadline. Was there a little luck involved? Yes. Cam Ward was unbelievable during those playoffs. Im sure even they had no clue he'd be that good. I think they benched Gerber at some point, too. Add in some awful injury luck for the Sabres as well. The point still stands, that formula still applies. Even today. What is Adams doing? Not enough. And he doesn't seem to realize it. Shame
