Eichel with tears in his eyes @ :32. He earned it fellas. I just didn't think it would happen this quick.

I couldn't watch the game...Was Lehner out there to lift the cup? I suppose he gets a ring too. 😜
-
Buffalo's been at it for 53 years...no cup. Vegas has been at it for 6 years...1 cup. We know Vegas got a sweetheart deal but Buffalo has got to be seriously stupid.

A Top 4 Defenseman is Adams Top Priority per Lebrun

We know he's available and it's intriguing with his skills, shot and leadership ability. A bit small at 6' 180, Montour-sized. Looks like he'd cost about $6 million. So would Tyler Myers, at 33 is still 6'8. I kind of like the idea of a Nephilim-sized defensive corps. -

Sabotage.

Tom, you and that fabulous voice projected kindness and goodness. Besides being 1/3 of the most memorable news team in Buffalo history, he was perhaps the most famous person who ever came out of Lockport and had a collection of loud plaid jackets that was second to none. Rest in peace Tom.

I always liked Lawrence. A smallish skilled offensive d-man like a Ruwhedel or a Ryan Johnson. Thought he got a bum steer from the Sabres. Never forgot that war whoop he let out scoring the winning bar-down goal against Vegas last year at 3:15. He screamed all the way to the bench. His surprised teammates even cracked up. What a celly! Best of luck Lawrence!

From the playoff thread. I said it 5/15. I know, I know, I need a better PR agent.

For your offseason entertainment, ten minutes of bad goals against the Leafs. -
Scary hit and I was worried about Jack's neck, as it looked to me like he got whiplashed. But he's back and in the groove.

Scary. But a few years back Zadorov ragdolled him something brutal.

I said it on 5/15.

Montour hasn't been a factor in a long while...watch Montour score now.

The Sabres and Canucks first few years come to mind. Besides Perreault and Martin, the Sabres fielded a barely professional organization. We were given the dregs of the league or washed-up vets in the expansion draft, not the cream of the crop young players that the Knights and Kraken were handed. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0000331971.html#:~:text=Buffalo Sabres 1970-71 roster and statistics , -- 25 more rows Even the best case scenario was the St. Louis Blues in 1967, who made three straight Stanley Cup finals in their first three years. They were placed in a newly-formed expansion division which they dominated. But when they played the winner of the original six division, they got swept all three times. I agree with you. I resent that the Knights made the SCF in their first year, and they had to go through a lot of competition to get there. It wasn't like they had to beat a bunch of scrubs to get there. They were given a tilted playing field and they were able to assemble a really good management team to take advantage of it.

Anyone remember Long John Henderson?

Good to see Reino smile. It's been a long time coming.

I don't like it. Plus $2.5 million is more than I'd pay for Okposo, (I'd pay about $1 mil, he's taken enough of our money) who's going to take a roster spot away from someone who could be more productive than him both in the short term and the long term. There's a real log-jam among the forwards. I know KO has been here a long time and he's been through a lot of adversity, but I just wish they let him go and trust the succession. They might have to move a guy like Jost, who I really like.

Vanek is very hockey smart. I heard him say he'd like to be a GM someday. Briere and Drury are GMS, why not Vanek? His troubles are behind him and he is now mature. Buffalo would be smart to hire him in some capacity.

Something stinks in NYC. Now Bettman is setting the stage for a Quenneville return this coming season. IMO, Quenneville to coach the Rangers this year, even before reading this article and just seeing the headline: https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/gary-bettman-to-meet-with-joel-quenneville-to-review-status-once-playoffs-end-1.1962521
