I see this a ton on anything Sabres whether it's here, sabres reddit, or just friends family. (Short background- feel free to skip) Now admittedly I'm a much more casual Sabres fan, as opposed to die hard Bills fan. Watched every game as a kid up through Hurricanes Eastern Finals, but then I moved. Games were much harder to follow out of town in '07 than today.. got my hands on Center Ice type package and picked them back up 3 seasons ago, where we were 2nd highest scoring team just needing a goalie This leaves me a bit out of touch with the position were in today. People were stoked when Pegula saved us, and hes a hockey first background with his Penn State work. Usually when I think of a team that'll never be good bc of ownership I think of Jets and Woody or Cleveland Haslem and even Dallas and Jerruh. Those teams will always be dumpster fires because of meddling and refusing to listen to the people theyve hired. That doesn't seem like TPeg is doing here, and isn't what he's done with Bills. I also don't see him as an absentee owner with the Bills. He's hands off after hiring the right people, in a good way, and I'm sure he offers his resources at request of front offices. do yall consider him an absentee owner for Sabres? Seems he's made the wrong GM and coaching hires (i want to give Ruff time). What are the things you'd like to see him do as owner of this team? Do you think he's lazy about doing those things? too cheap? Too stubborn? Or just to incompetent? I don't disbelieve you all, I just have a hard time imagining him being a good football owner, who just has no chance at making hockey work?? His background says he knows hockey much more than football. Why can't his skills of handling of the Bills be transferable to the Sabres? -Frustrated Fan in NC

Yikes, TBH this roster doesnt strike fear in anyone, especially after this past year. we looked like a team turning the corner, if we could land a goalie..... well, we did, and "developed" Levi (sort of, but hopeful). What i will say, and it will be unpopular sentiment here.... Ruff will have these dudes playing to their potential. Hated buying Skinner out, without giving him a chance under new coach... but the one thing it does bring is a wakeup call. If a player is mailing it in, he;ll be gone or riding pine bare minimum. Wish we could have a do over from last year with Ruff.... wouldve rather built up off that momentum. Feels like we're starting from a dead, screeching stop as of now. We should be be to see by Christmas, even if just off effort. Again ----> unpopular incoming--- stay at or around .500 hockey by Christmas, but the guys are skating their ***** off, playing for one another, doing the gritty s***, we have a chance

You never used your job authority to check out naked pics of your subordinates significant others? Seriously WTF was this guy thinking. If this was all on the up and up, itd be pretty easy to ask players to each send you 1 or 2 pics that make you proud of your family, put them in a slide, and have each guy stand up during theirs and share about 'why and who they do what they do, for', share their major beliefs/motivations. Team building meetings like this are common, and absolutely something I could see McD doing....... but 'enter your passcode, give me your phone, and ill be back in an hour' is psychopathic behavior. Not like this coach was someone as the victim of players with an axe to grind against him. They havent played a single game yet and should still be in the honeymoon phase lol unreallllll

Levi, a mid level veteran, and i want to keep UPL around. Luuka got fed to the wolves this year, it was up and down but there were flashes. Improve the defense and develop the guy. Teams need 2 starters anyways, hes a great tool if he develops, trade bait, or a quality #2. Or get him down in Roch, let Levi and the vet do the heavy lifting

Getting rough. Sucks that were gunna end so close. A kicked goal beong called off against NYI and maybe Levi comes in a game or 2 earlier and were in Can't gain any ground w/ pitt fla and ny winning every night 😭

It is when theirs no real upside to the other three. Best case scenario, we limp into playoffs behind our 4 man rotation (or 3 if conservative), does anyone have any doubt we get pounded 4 games and head home having gave up 21goals? Or do you do an eval, let the team come out with that extra fire and hope, and maybe he gets hot. Were obv not a contender, but if we were to get to playoffs, winning 2 games behind a young goalie and team could really send the message to the team we belong there next year. Getting swept, without any eval does nothing for anybody. Roll with the spark

its brutal. upl and anderson dont inspire anyone. lets let the young cat fire the team up, maybe dude gets real hot. hot goalie, we score a lot. live and die by that to end of reg season and round 1. anyone think we wouldnt get swept 4-0 w/ UPL or Comrie? if were gunna do anything its gunna be with the kid in net

what better way to evaluate than a playoff vibe game, high pressure, revenge game. lets see what levi has down the stretch. give us an idea of what we need to do next year. id like him to be a killer out there, but more importantly lets see how he handles the stretch mentally. what do we have to lose?
