I was very adamant over the last few months that the Sabres were not getting a high end prospect(Byfield, Zegras, Krebs, etc…) in a trade package for John. I WAS WRONG.

Any chance it was glossed over, and Dunleavy was included in the deal? 😈

Not sure when I will ever use this again after today, so here goes…

Vegas is in Buffalo on 3/10. I wonder if John will be healthy by then?

Considering Krebs had never hit the 20 goal mark in juniors, I am guessing he is more of a playmaking center? Hopefully meshes well with some of the young prospects on the wing that are on the way.

I’m assuming next season they will be back to Cup contender and pick ends up 25 or lower. My best case scenario, injury riddled Vegas sneaks into the playoffs this season, gets run in the 1st round, and we end up with a pick between 17-20.

…we all better cheer for Vegas the rest of this season…even if Broken John is in the lineup come March/April. [edited]Unless the 2023 draft is as good or better than the 2022 draft is supposed to be.

Not me. I am still expecting a return that will be underwhelming. They are trying to flush a broken john from the organization, but that is next to impossible.

You will get no disagreement for me. In fact, I was jumping for joy when the Sabres gave him a 3 year bridge deal instead of 8x8 or something similar. If there is not significant improvement by this time next year, I wouldn’t even be bothered if they traded him. I’m not sure at this point if he should be considered a core piece.

I don't think the Sabres will have a "close to the cap" issue for at least 3 years.

Any chance there were two events on a day at the Aud? Sabres and “fill in the blank”. I seem to recall it being newsworthy “the quick switch”. Maybe I just dreamt the whole scenario, or more likely, my memory just sucks. 😂

The Sabres & Bills doubleheader today got me thinking…did the Sabres, Bills and Braves ever win all on the same day? Also trying to recall, did the Braves and Sabres ever play on the same day in the Aud? Enquiring minds want to know? 😊
