  1. Oops. Then I read that wrong. My mistake.
  2. Aren’t the number of preseason games, and when and where they occur, up to the teams involved?
  3. Cederqvist was really impressive, and hopefully can be a solid middle six winger in 2-3 years.
  4. Not sure what made me happier… Tanny getting pulled halfway thru the 3rd quarter or Vrabel’s puss face shown over and over again in the 2nd half
  5. Saw Terry at the game. Probably made a beeline to the stadium immediately afterwards. I have to say this about him…his passion for the Sabres still seems to be intact…even with the Bills playing in primetime the same day.
  6. No training camp schedule or roster yet? Doesn’t it start this week?
  7. It will all come down to the vets signed for the Amerks.
  8. I agree. Extra incentive…sign a contract, and stay for training camp!
  9. I think the biggest problem filling the arena again, is the box office price of tickets. When you have 15k-16k in STH, and you only have a few thousand to sell at high box office prices…not a problem. When your STH base is 6k-7k(I’m guessing), that is a whole lot of tickets to sell $$$.
  10. Did Weber steal your girlfriend, kick your dog, or both?
  11. Anyone know what scores(boxscores) were for yesterdays games?
  12. Watching the Baron could be must see TV.
  13. I was shocked at the number of scouts at the game last night. I am guessing around 30. Then again, I guess it doesn’t get any easier for them, when you have prospects for 5 or 6 teams together for games over a long weekend.
  14. Went to the game. A few notes… - Montreal definitely more physical. Cederqvist threw a few nice checks, and 88 had 1 or 2, but other than that not much. - Savoie very quiet. - I predict Rosen will be back in Europe at the end of his ELC, or even earlier. - Both Sabres goalies were decent for being camp invitees. - Passolt seemed to catch my eye more than 1 or 2 times. As far as the HarborCenter goes… -Leaving the ramp, you are heading from the 4th to the 3rd floor, big overhead sign reads “no right turn”. I make a left along with several cars in front of me…blocked off dead end. 😡 - Two bathrooms, and the one by the “team officials” box is blocked off. All they have to do is put a security person by the door to the box and leave corridor open. Nope…must be treated like royalty. - Mentioned prior to the game it is great to stand along the glass behind the net. Went down there for the 3rd period, and was told to move by security. I asked if he meant move back a few feet, and said no, can’t stand down here at all. Why? He says “I don’t know, they don’t tell me why”.😞 - Packed house, and one of 4 concession areas open, and only 3 people staffing that one. Looks like Southern Tier also took over the concessions and may have bit off more than they can chew. Might go back Monday as it is a 1PM start and should not be as crowded
  15. So are the “invitees” all eligible to be signed to a contract, or are they potential draftees based on DoB?
  16. In the past, I will go stand at ice level behind the net for a period. It is amazing how fast the game moves, and how hard the puck is shot when you are in that part of the rink.
  17. ummm...how would I know that was Brian talking. It could have been someone else. I guess I read it the wrong way.
  18. From BN… The Sabres also announced Monday that Matt Smith has joined Don Granato's coaching staff as a video coordinator. Most recently, Smith was the head coach at Saint Ignatius College Prep in Chicago, where he previously ran the Chicago Jets youth hockey organization. He and Granato met approximately a decade ago, when the latter was scouting for the Vancouver Canucks. Smith led Saint Ignatius to its first Chicago Catholic Hockey League championship for the 2021-22 seasonn. He was also named the league's coach of the year. The opening on Granato's staff was created by former video coach Myles Fee joining the Florida Panthers.
  19. Very sad. Clearly for her to be out of the public eye for 3 months, either the rehab is not going well, or there is some permanent damage that is causing her to stay out of the spotlight.
  20. 12 NHL games between them, and they are no longer considered “prospects”? Fuzzy math?
