That folks is what you call an "Instant Classic". What a way to start the playoffs. Some game thoughts... - Max was very quiet. He had that one chance off the post, but I didn't notice him much other than that. - Kotalik playing a physical game. Pleasant surprise. - Tallinder getting in the way of Forsberg's open net with only about 15 seconds gone in the game. You have to be good, but you also need some luck. ;) - Grier playing the role the Sabres need him to in the playoffs. - Miller was solid. - Jochen Hecht is in my top 3 Sabres. The guy brings so much to the table when he is in the lineup. - Esche stood on his head and the Flyers still lost. I don't expect him to continue to play at that level. - Folks will still be talking about that Campbell hit 20 years from now. GO SABRES!!!!!

Go figure...80 games without a shutout and then they close the season out with back to back blankings. GO SABRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great way to close out the home portion of the regular season schedule. Miller could not have picked a better time to catch on fire...hopefully he stays that way for a while. LEAFS SUCK!! GO SABRES!!

Maybe it was wishful thinking on my part. The good news is Miller played well and they scored timely goals in the third period. Once again Habs fans...take your stupid ole ole chant and go drown your sorrows with a case of beer or two.

I was at this game and it is still is one of my all time favorites.

I don't care that the Senators were missing half their defense. The bottom line is that for the most part we shut down their offense and dominated them on their ice. One thing that bothers me...how hard is it to pay attention to where Alfredsson is on the ice at all times.

I don't understand Lydman. At the beginning of the season he was brutal, then paired with Tallinder, the two of them were as good as any pairing in the NHL and during this slump, they have been horrible. Sabres somehow manage a 4-3 OT win!!!

Briere is money in the bank around the net. Great win and ride the momentum into tomorrow's game where the Flyers get buried and their thoughts of 4th place go down the drain.

I'd like to see the Sabres score 2 goals in the first 10 minutes of the period and an empty netter to cap off a 6-3 WIN. GO SABRES!!!!

There is only a two point differential between the Rangers and the Flyers and they have 2 more games against each other. It could just as easily be the Rangers we end up playing in the 1st round.

Brian Campbell...another solid game finishing up a -2. He should be nailed to the bench come the playoffs except for the PP.

Connolly's turnaround continues to be amazing. That move on Drury's goal was FAN-tastic. I get the feeling we may not see Hecht back until the playoffs.

1. Bad team defense 2. Bad goaltending 3. DUMB PENALTIES!! The Sabres have ZERO chance in the playoffs without Miller playing well and at this point in the slump, I'm starting to wonder what is going on with him. You can't let in 4 or 5 goals every game and chalk them all up to "he had no chance or it was a great shot". Sooner or later he has to make the big save. Biron is NOT the answer, so if Miller does not get out of his funk quickly, the Sabres are screwed. As far as the penalties go, these guys aren't thinking at all. Tallinder takes a stupid high sticking penalty when the play was nowhere near him, Dumont trips a Ranger behind the New York net, etc... On Jagr's game tying goal, Lydman and Tallinder were both in the same corner of the rink against the boards. Hey guys...one of you plays left defense and one plays right defense. The one playing left defense probably shouldn't be in the right corner of the rink.

At the risk of repeating myself...CAMPBELL SUCKS IN HIS OWN END! On the first goal, he just stood there as the Ottawa player went between him and McKee. On the third goal, he was standing by himself next to the net as the puck went in. I'd swear he was flinching thinking the puck might hit him instead of the inside of the net. Lindy needs to stop this freefall quickly. I completely disagree with those on this board who would rather finish fifth or sixth instead of fourth. Darcy...You didn't want to disrupt team chemistry by not making a trade, but it looks like the chemistry has fizzled??

I've gone on record as saying this line is a nightmare in it's own end. I have to believe they will be quickly broken up in the playoffs if they do not get it together from a defensive zone perspective.

The Flyers are only 5 points behind the Sabres(The Sabres have two games in hand). I wouldn't call 4th place a lock. There is a lot of hockey to be played yet.
