I thought the new cable box/dvr's were the Cisco ones? That is what I have been told in the past and every time I ask, I am told they don't have any available for swaps.

The newer boxes meaning the Cisco ones?

I've never noticed, but usually I am too pissed at the video quality to even think about the audio quality. :angry:

Here we are almost a year after my HD TV purchase, and my T-W feed for some channels is still crap. Fast moving close-ups of sports or action movies results in varying amounts of pixelating on many channels. I have had them out numerous times to no avail. I know it is not the TV, because sports on some channels(ESPN), I don't see the problem at all. Other channels(NBC), are horrible and I see it all the time. If they are compressing the signal as some here previously suggested, they are never going to own up to it. Therefore, I either live with it, keep making them come out to be a pain in the ass, or switch to having a Wok on the side of my house(no thanks). PS Verizon has stalled on their FIOS deployment in WNY, so I am screwed in that regard.

My team(Labatt Blue - Gold League) is pretty strong in the faceoffs, hits and blocked shots category. Don't know about the rest of my team. :lol:

Even so, the parallel parking done on the road test is nothing like what you are doing on a daily basis. It is one car on the street with wide open curb behind that car. It is not, here are two cars with a 10 ft opening between them, go for it.

1. When is the NYS DMV going to revise what is included on the road test? Take out ###### like parallel parking and 3 point turns, and include having to go on a busy street(road test locations of East Aurora and Orchard Park don't cut it), make people get on and off the thruway and when possible have them go thru a traffic circle(see my rant below). Also, make it so that once you hit a certain age, you need to take a road test every 5 years(70 or 75???) 2. There are several new traffic circles that have been constructed in WNY over the last few years, and people are clueless as to how something so simple works....the cars ENTERING the circle YIELD to cars IN the circle. Do you idiots not know what yield means? 3. Every year I have chronic cough problems that flare up as soon as the temps start to drop. I've been to the doctors well over a hundred times over the last 30 years and all the visits and tests have never got to the bottom of it. :angry:

Labor Day weekend already? Here's hoping for a nice September in WNY after a crappy May and early June.

Tim Horton's pisses me off, but at the same time I find myself going back again and again. If you order a single item from them(bagel, breakfast sandwich, etc...) they refuse to put the item in a bag(this has become common place at all their locations over the last 6 months). Also, the napkins they use can be compared to Kleenex. How high do profits have to get, before you begin spending some of them? :angry:

This weather sucks. Current WNY temp 37! Never ending rain & cold, but just enough 50 degree days sprinkled in to cause the friggin' grass to start growing uncontrollably.

Also, did he start firing pucks at the dolls in It's a Small World. They can be a little repetitive. PS Those turkey legs are disgusting.

Went to a NYS retirement planning seminar today. This is what I put up with... 1. Despite the seminar host stating at the very beginning of the day to take any conversations outside, I got saddled with two women right next to me, who decided to talk all day long. 2. A Darwin award candidate sitting near the front, gets up in the middle of a presentation and instead of heading to the back of the room and out the door, he walks right in front of the presenter and the screen and out the door in front of the meeting room. 3. Same two women mentioned in #1 come back from lunch(don't know what they did during LUNCH) and proceeded to eat their stinky lunches during the afternoon presentation. 4. People asking questions that if they were listening, were answered at some earlier point in the seminar.

Replacing an existing interior door with a new pre-hung door is not as easy as it appears to be. :censored:

I just called them up the next day and had them deactivate it. The police called back a month later and said they caught the people who did it, but none of the merchandise was recovered. Sirius sent me a replacement at no charge.

99.9% of the time(overnight), I lock my car in the driveway. The one night I left it unlocked, vandals(teens?) went through the neighborhood checking doors to see which ones were unlocked. They took my sirius radio and I am convinced that the knuckleheads thought it was a GPS. PS I also never leave my house unlocked even if I am only going up to the corner for gas, and I don't live in a bad nieghborhood where crime is rampant.

Hello??? Town highway departments??? It's March...you know the time of year when you need to get out and start filling the THOUSANDS of potholes throughout WNY. :censored:

Continued rise in cost of greeting cards. I don't know if any of these companies are traded publicly, but if they are, their stock should be going through the roof. Anyone who is spending 4+ dollars for this crap should have their head examined. If I can't find one for 2.99 or less, I'm walking out empty handed.

I am f***ing sick of shoveling/snowblowing. The snow is 7-8 feet high to the sides of the driveway apron(due to all the previous clearing attempts). I got pissed the other day after the plow went by, got the snowblower out and cleared the 6 inches the plow dumped in the apron, right back in the street!
