  1. Lucic gets called for a penalty, and before play is stopped, Chara is also sent to the box. The Sabres score during the subsequent PP, and out comes Chara. Should Lucic be the one coming out first since his penalty has before Chara's, or since they went off at the same time, the team has the choice of which player comes out first?
  2. - I know Vanek is streaky, but this start is unbelievable. - Myers-Leopold combo...AWFUL. - Miller with some big saves on Lucic. He may not sleep well tonight with nightmares of Miller robbing him. - Weber deserves to stay in the lineup. Even if it means that they dress 7 defensemen. - Nice to see some others contributing on offense. - Stafford was invisible. What a waste of talent. - Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville are saving this from being a disastrous start to the season. - The Sabres were awful in their own end for almost the entire game. It was almost as if Boston had an extra skater out there. - Nice to see Chara look foolish on the Hodgson goal. Finished a "-3". How's that taste Z?
  3. In the 7 years since the previous lockout, Miller has been in the top 10 in save % 3 times....finishing 2nd, 8th & 10th.
  4. Just because Lindy gave him 3rd line minutes, doesn't mean he is a 3rd line player. Looking at his career, he was a 4th line player who should have been getting 6-8 minutes a game plus PK minutes, and absolutely no PP time.
  5. Absolutely agree. Here is a guy not AFRAID to hit and fight, and yet back to the press box he goes.
  6. Gaustad hit the 30 point mark only twice, and never belonged anywhere other than the 4th line. Even if Foligno is a 3rd line talent who can fill in on a scoring line in a pinch, he will be miles ahead of where Gaustad's career has gone. Sidenote on Gaustad...if he had remained the player he was when he first came in the league, he would still be a Sabre. Instead, he decided he didn't need to be as much of a physical presence as his career progressed, and therefore become an overpaid 4th line player with NO offensive skills.
  7. I can't decide what was worse, Leopold acting like a pylon, or Miller giving up an unbelievably bad goal? It was not some great shot that he roofed. The puck went under his freaking arm. Lucky for me, all I saw was the last minute of regulation, and the OT. PS The NHL needs to go to 3 on 3 for OT. More often than not, 4 on 4 doesn't look much different from 5 on 5.
  8. Is Gerbe hurt or healthy scratch? On a team struggling to score goals, I'd be shocked if Scott dressed over a healthy Gerbe? Then again, nothing "Coach for Life" does should shock me.
  9. You want me to believe Scott is a better option than dressing Brennan or Weber? If so, I'm not buying it.
  10. 1st period - 5 shifts 4:54 2nd period - 2 shifts 1:54 3rd period - zero shifts Maybe the decision to keep him or send him back will be mainly based on his feelings in regards to Mighty Taco, waterfront development, Amherst housing options, & Fort Erie strip clubs.
  11. Coach for Life can use Grigs how ever he wants. That is what you get when he is not held accountable for the teams performance.
  12. I didn't watch the game last night. DVR'ed it, but when I heard the final score, I didn't bother. Then I read in this mornings Buffalo News, that Grigs started out on the 4th line with Scott, and played little in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Don't even bother with his 5th game. SEND HIM DOWN NOW. Get him away from "Coach for Life" ASAP. What a joke.
  13. Another thing I learned today. Where abouts are they living?
  14. I don't see anything unfair in what you stated. Well said!
  15. Is hamilton doing the radio broadcast? I never listen on the radio.
  16. Hamilton gets the opener, and Sylvester the next 3 games. Brown nosing and sucking #### will go a long way towards being RJ's replacement.
  17. Was one of the poll options supposed to say pucks instead of picks?

....or certain players are always in denial after poor outings. ;)
  19. Great question for the GM.
  20. Well they lost Finley, they lose Brennan to waivers, and don't bring back Leopold and Regehr, DR can justify picking 5 more defenseman in this years draft.

One "Chara" moment into his 4th season. If that is how often that side of Myers is going to come out, it is not even worth mentioning.
  22. Yes!!!! Let Brennan & Weber get nice and rusty, so when you finally put them in a game and they suck, you can send them right back to the press box the following game. Scott is bringing so much to the table, there is no way they can possibly remove him from the lineup. Same goes for any of the blueliners who sucked as a group last night. Coach for Life strikes again.
  23. I had no idea he was that bad. If he blows up a few more times, maybe give Leggio a shot. That being said, I have no idea if Leggio has skills to be an NHL backup playing 10-20 games a year.

As I have stated since Myers rookie season, either a player has it in him(willingness) to be physical or they don't. Myers didn't have it then, he doesn't have it now, and if I was a betting man, what you see now, is what you will see the rest of his career. There were 3 possible player types Myers would become or he could have become a combination of all 3. 1 - Physical punishing defenseman...NOT HAPPENING EVER. 2- Gifted offensive defenseman...Showed great signs of this in his rookie year, and has regressed each of the subsequent seasons in this regard 3 - Solid defensive defenseman...4 years into his career, and he is below average more often than not in this regard.
