  1. I'm happy he is blocking him if he is playing like this
  2. The reason I ask is because I don't think they've won a game where he's been missing yet this year. Like 0 for 10 ish
  3. The most surprising thing is Krebs imo. Without Dahlin, would the Sabres be the worst team in the league?
  4. My understanding from following along with Kris Baker's tweets was Ratzlaff was seeing 40+ shots every game of the series. He was likely the only reason that they won any games.
  5. It wont matter for the Sabres this year, but it will matter for the player. They get a taste of action in the big leagues, get a nice pay check, are rewarded for their good year, and hopefully further motivated to make it full time. It's an early vote of confidence from the organization and a reward for their play
  6. Hes had 2 straight years of being a top 5 ahl goalie. I suspect he is a candidate for player of the year in the ahl. He leads the league in shutouts. The team is dominating with him in goal. Hes letting in like 2 per game. There's nothing left to prove at the ahl level. The only question left is how to integrate him
  7. At this point, he's proven it in the AHL and deserves a real shot next year. How the Sabres end up incorporating him into their plans though is the tough part: Does he start the year in the AHL and then is given a shot in the event of injury? Does he start off as the backup? Is he given a real chance to compete for the #1 spot in camp? I feel like all of these are definite possibilities and it really depends on how well the AHL has prepared him for this
  8. Feels relevant to bring up Quinn right now in the middle of his hot streak. 8 points in last 4 games. Maybe a glimmer of hope? The real reason I wanted to revive this thread was two fold: 1) Apparently Lance talked to Quinn at some point. The linked article (https://buffalonews.com/sports/professional/nhl/sabres/article_c728a2c0-c308-44cd-a221-49a5abe699d0.html) has a few quotes from Quinn with commentary from Lance. Obviously there's a paywall with the BN so I'm not going to post the whole thing, but here's a few snippets: So, in other words, the injury did affect him this season because it didn't allow him to train like he normally would and thus he was slower. The other thing relevant to Quinn is coming late to the morning meeting and getting benched because of it. It sounds like he was pretty embarassed about it. since missing that meeting and being scratched as a result, he's +5 with 8 points in 5 games. maybe jack's motivation for this recent spurt of good play is tied to him being embarrassed about the missing the meeting? 2) the infamous blue and gold insights regarding conditionining: https://x.com/TheSabreReport/status/1905042868437213435 Ruff blames the Sabres issues partially on conditioning coming into the year. Based on the above, seems likely Quinn is at the very least partially the reason behind this Let's hope our boy is on track. Based on Ruff's quotes from Blue and Gold insights, it seems likely that both him and Quinn will be back next year.
  9. Anybody have an idea of how his name is correctly pronounced?
  10. These idiots got me to check the standings. I am pathetic, just looking for literally any reason to believe. Sabres are like the former girlfriend that hates you but still love her anyway
  11. Would that be Krebs first win in a fight? I don't remember him ever getting the better of anyone.
  12. Hopefully we sign Brannstrom so we can collect all the Brysons. Any other Brysons we can trade for? ftr this was a joke, i really like Brannstrom on the amerks. he has a lot more offensive pop than bryson
  13. Our call ups aren't exactly lighting it on fire, are they? I don't think Rosen has an NHL point yet. Maybe he's due
  14. Wonder if we also see our friend Dennis Gilbert? This game might be feisty
  15. I think I remember seeing a stat that with Tuch.. other teams were scoring once every 33ish minutes while JJ is on the ice. Without Tuch, it was like once every 13 minutes while JJ is on the ice. I don't remember the source, so there's a chance I might be misremembering that.
  16. that's how you move the puck on the powerplay!
  17. it's funny... i'll complain about how meaningless this game is and how bad the team is. but once the season ends I will miss Sabres hockey immediately.
  18. Tired of seeing these same dudes. It would be one thing if we were winning..
  19. Brett murray's greatest moment came in an allstar game
  20. I agree completely. He didn't light the qmjhl on fire, so there is definitely still a question of whether he can play over here. But he looks like someone that has taken some big steps since then and warrants an offer of a contract. Obviously, it's hard to translate these things from league to league, but I'm guessing his floor is decent AHL player at this point.
  21. agree with the other three, but pretty strongly disagree on marjala. he's likely already capable of being a good ahl player. point per game player this year in finland's top league and rookie of the year in liiga the year before. i would be extremely surprised if the sabres don't offer him a contract. however, given that his success has been primarily in europe and he is already a top player on his team, i wouldn't be surprised if he wants to stay in europe
  22. I forget that he exists sometimes. Looks like he has had some pretty good year over year improvement down in jville. Hopefully his skating is improving.. that was always the big knock on him
