2 periods outshot 33-8 Wow! -
I have a 36 inch waist. A 38 feels so good that I wear a 40.😄

Rasmus Dahlin is replacing Tage Thompson in the All Star Game

I’m glad Jesperi Kotkaniemi isn’t in the game. I think Rasmussen is still stinging from that punch. -
Auston Matthews is softer than charmin...what a joke

Seems like I remember him cross checking Dahlin and Cozens returned the favor with a nice check that sent him flying. -

Portillo is biding his time until he is an UFA. I doubt he moves on from Michigan and I doubt he ever signs with the Sabres. -
Kasper is the prospect I would love at #9 but I would bet $100 that Detroit takes him at #8. Yzerman has excellent scouts in the Swedish league, probably the same guy that found Seider, as he played for the same team as Kasper. Kasper and Seider have a lot in common. Kasper is mature, smart (fluent in 3 languages) good size, good skater and I think he has a lot of offensive upside. I think he would be an instant top player for Rochester and would be a Sabre after 1 year. His background would be a great fit with JJP.

Lambert worries me too high in the draft. He hasn’t progressed very much. Has great skating skills but I’m not convinced he has the hockey IQ to go with it. If he’s there at 28 I’d consider taking a shot. I think Kasper would be a good fit. Could plug him into the Rochester lineup right away and I bet he would be ready for the Sabres next year. I think Detroit is all over him at #8. Played on the same SHL team as Seider and they come from the same region (Germany/Austria). I think he would be good for JJ Peterka.

Boy that would be great. I’m afraid that neither Gauthier or Kasper make it to 9. Several teams are looking for the bigger fast skating forwards like Ottawa and Detroit. If the Sabres want one of them, they may have to trade up. Philly has no 2nd rounder so maybe they would be willing to trade down. Not sure what it would cost.

Agree. I could see Kasper and JJP being good friends. Detroit seems like a good fit with the SHL connection to some of their other top prospects. Gauthier would also be a good fit but probably doesn’t make it to #9.

Erik Portillo returning to Michigan Per Friedman

Since goalies take longer, it is a big risk. Also the Canadian kids end up coming over the border to play high level college hockey. They have figured out a way to never really be drafted. Play 3 years of college and then be a free agent. Should have learned our lesson with Cal Petersen. -
True. Otherwise I’d be hitting him up for a loan.😁

Okposo may not have Jack Eichel’s talent but he seems to be a way better captain. Seems to be a calming mature voice in this locker room of youngsters. I think he is earning his pay this year more than any of his previous years.

Thanks for the brew. I’ve been a watcher for years, just never posted. I’m a diehard Bills fan but like the Sabres too.
