  1. I just came here to say I think this is the game Quinn gets some confidence back in. Glad I'm not the only one.
  2. Fundamentally we agree but I phrased it poorly. I think Buffalo "should win" in the context of proving preseason expectations and not "should win" in the context that we're the President's trophy winning team playing a bottom feeder. The pre-season expectation for this team was that they're better than Montreal and Chicago and as good or slightly behind Detroit. If I meant the context of "should win" because they're the better team based on the small sample size of 1/16th of the season, I'd have said we "should" win against Tampa because Tampa is off to a slow start. I do not believe for a minute Buffalo is a better team than Tampa. If that makes sense.
  3. I think Buffalo lights the lamp a lot this game. Both Grubauer and Jones have been pulled from games--and Seattle has only played 7. I'm just hoping we don't get overconfident in our goaltending and we remember that we're short two defensemen. We need players like Mitts to continue his solid defensive play we saw against Vancouver. I'm less worried if Buffalo drops this game than if we drop any of the subsequent three. My only fear is if we drop this game the momentum carries through when we need positive momentum heading home. We play Montreal on Thursday, Chicago on Saturday, and Detroit next Monday. Those are three games we should win. Chicago is not very good and if the Sabres play their game that should be a win. That can be said for Montreal as well with the added concern that they're a division opponent. Obviously, Detroit is a division opponent as well, but that game is important because they're considered by many to be ahead of us in the rebuild process and, if this team has any hope of landing a wild card spot, they can't afford to be dropping points against other resurgent teams. After that we play Pittsburgh, Carolina and Tampa. I don't see us going 3-0 against those teams. We need to stack wins now.
  4. VO: I don’t score every game, but when I do, it comes in twos.
  5. Power made a smart play there to hold it, make sure no forward trailed, and then take the low chance shot.
  6. It depends on the extent of damage and the individual. Overwhelmingly it’s partials now and they will heal in under 6 months.
  7. That’s not good. I don't think so...it's 9 months minimum It’s half that now.
  8. Duffy just said Tuch is in the running for the Rocket Richard trailing Stamkos by one goal. Got to love early season conversations…
  9. Oh God, you’re right. That’s what it is.
  10. When Duffy is talking to the camera during the roll to commercial, Marty just stares into the camera and I feel like he’s staring right into my soul. He doesn’t blink. He’s like a hawk.
  11. He heard he needs 82 goals to get Louis Vuitton sponsorship
  12. We all just witnessed Mittelstadt successfully backchecking for a full shift. Naysayers be warned.
  13. Hinostroza looking good again.
  14. Can’t really call high sticking on TT. It’s just sticking at his height.
  15. Dahlin with perfect positioning on the PK there
  16. Girgensons is playing really well this year and doesn’t get enough love.
  17. That was a pretty weak call on the replay.
  18. Dahlin really doesn’t like that redraft or his top 100 ranking.
  19. Is it me or is the puck bouncing a lot?
  20. Yes he did. It’s unfortunate. That’s Vegas Golden Knights legend Maxime Lagace by the way.
  21. Agreed. I just saw that stat line and it didn’t sit with my eye test. I was curious if I was missing something someone else had seen.
  22. Not really, no. Ethan Prow is pretty obvious when he’s on the ice as he is just a good AHL defenseman, but everyone else kind of blends together. Admittedly I was paying more attention to forwards partly because I still haven’t mastered all the jersey numbers. The only defensive situation that really stuck out was when Clague didn’t pick up his man on the second Crunch goal which was set up by Davies (I think but not 100% sure it was him) just horribly misplaying the puck at the blue line originally.
