  1. Dahlin dropped him like a sack of bricks.
  2. In retrospect, I wish that we had not abandoned the original royal blue and gold in the first place.
  3. Considering his height, it's mildly surprising how weak UPL is at the top of the net.
  4. My hopes are with Portillo and/or Levi despite the latter's size. This season, it appears that we are what we are in goal. Unless KA has something up his sleeve prior to the deadline, scoring four goals plus will be the bare minimum on most nights.
  5. Unfortunately, the cupboard is pretty bare these days.
  6. You are correct. Not against an opponent like this and in this atmosphere. We had looks and simply did not finish. I like where we are headed, though, with this current squad. I like that a team this young got a taste of the knockout stage at a WC. We need scoring and it's our main detriment right now. Three goals in four games is not going to cut it. Then again, alluding to your original point, I thought the USMNT was on its way after getting to the quarterfinal in 2002 and that, obviously, never happened.
  7. We have controlled overall possession, but The Netherlands are so patient and methodical. Almost every error by the US was converted into an odd-man rush in transition. That second goal is a true back-breaker. We're really going to see what this young team is made of in the second half. Is Reyna going to finally see the field? We need to try something before we are down three or four goals.
  8. Unfortunately, we are 29th in goals against with 89.
  9. Overall, they played the Avs tough. As stated upthread, the 5-on-3 in the second and some weak goals hurt us. Any team will make you pay for these, but a team like the Avs will turn off the lights on you. Yet, there we were in the game late in the third. This team had the Bolts dead to rights and played the defending champs very well. There is a lot to like with this team. While at the game, I tried to focus on the third line. As others have said, there's simply not much there. Krebs had one open look and demurred for whatever the reason. Mitts had some hustle and actually found his way in front of the net to harass their netminder once or twice. VO could not get out of his own way. I mean, the line was responsible for four shots, two hits, and two penalty minutes (crap call on Krebs I know.) There's simply no sugarcoating how inconsequential this line is.
  10. I didn't see a hook by Krebs there.
  11. Dahlin looked like a magician along the boards there.
  12. Tuch's 200th career point.
  13. Tuch didn't miss the net that time.
  14. Cozens doesn't diddle around with the puck, does he?
  15. It's refreshing to see this team sticking up for each other. It really is.
  16. How was that move even possible? Tage!
  17. The Kid Line strikes again!
