  1. I'd take 23 Benson's on my team and 0 of most of these other humps.
  2. Razor calling out the rest of the team for not playing more like Benson.
  3. No reason they shouldn't win this. The Wings are reeling as bad as us. They lose this, they gotta make a move, right? RIGHT?
  4. I've been a diehard fan since 1992. Through thick and thin through the years, including this 13+ year death march, I still cared and remained engaged. I think they're finally losing me. Something about that Adams presser broke something in me. It just feels so hopeless now. I've made no effort to watch the last two games. That is VERY unusual for me. Apathy is taking hold, so not sure how many more this season I'll bother with. Thanks, Terry. Thanks, Kevyn. You've finally killed my passion.
  5. Nothing really to say anymore. Glad I missed this turd. Apathy is setting in.
  6. Winnipeg has stunk recently. They've dropped 7/10 and 4 in a row. Do we get "good Sabres" that we saw before this current skid, or do the Sabres get to be the slump buster again? There's no earthly way to tell with this team. I'm not sure there's a more schizophrenic team in hockey the last 2 seasons.
  7. You could probably put up as many points in 22 games as Mr. Lafferty.
  8. Well, given they gave up 5 unanswered goals to get there, I'm not surprised. Maybe that's part of the reason they are so below average playing in their own barn...too uptight about pissing off the already surly fanbase.
  9. It's depressing watching home games now. Remembering how raucous our home crowds were before this 14 year death march and seeing a half-full building now sucks. It looked like the crowds were starting to come back in a little in March/April 2023 as they started playing some good hockey for a while and particularly to honor RJ...but that momentum was quickly snuffed out when last year's team couldn't get going. There's a fanbase here itching to re-embrace the Sabres, but after 13 (probably gonna be 14) years of bad teams and no playoffs, who can blame them for staying away? Going to a game ain't cheap and who wants to shell out their hard earned dollars to watch performances like last night?
  10. Exact same thing I was preparing to post. Dude, you're contributing nothing. Maybe play better?
  11. There have been "worse" losses, but as far as being a cold smack across the face exposing the bleak reality of the situation, it's hard to top.
  12. Agreed on that. But I fear that's what we will get. I cannot see Terry firing his boy into the sun midseason. If they start making moves, grab your socks and hope for the best.
  13. There is something very toxic baked into the core of this team. We have some good players individually who are underachieving right now, but the sum of the parts does not add up to a good hockey team. The roster needs a shake up. The way I view it (not that it matters) is this: Keep: Tuch (solid, not spectacular player on a reasonable contract), TNT (very good offensive player, should be a consistent 40 goal guy if he can stay healthy, reasonable contract), Dahlin (not perfect, but a legitimate #1 defenseman), Benson (most heart of anyone on the roster and just 19, skill will continue to improve), Peterka (on ELC and has shown excellent offensive skills), Krebs (reasonable contract and plays his ass off, valuable for a bottom 6 guy), McLeod (good 2-way player on a reasonable contract, fast as hell, good penalty killer), Kulich (ELC and has shown solid potential), UPL (Has been excellent the past 2 seasons) Expendable: Zucker (love what he's added this year, but he's not a part of any long term plans and could bring something back from a contender looking for a productive middle 6 F), Byram (he's been solid at times, but he doesn't look like a blue liner that you NEED to keep around), Cozens (the way he's fallen off a cliff is alarming and some team might offer a decent return if they think they can get him back on track), Greenway (Like what he adds, but he has injury issues and probably isn't necessary for any longer term plans), Quinn (Looks lost, the toxicity here may just be dragging him down, has shown potential and that might be attractive to someone), Samuelsson (Doubt anybody would take on his contract, but he's too fragile and hasn't shown much over the last 12 months), Clifton (Meh defenseman, may be attractive to a contender looking to add a second or bottom pairing dman with some toughness), Jokiharju (have never been overly impressed with him, similar to Clifton minus the toughness), Malenstyn (I like him as a 4th liner, but don't see him as necessary to any kind of long term plans, may be appealing to a contender looking to add some toughness to their 4th line). Levi (UPL has emerged as a legit #1 goalie making Levi expendable in my mind. Wouldn't mind keeping him around as a future partner if he can develop, but if somebody is willing to give you something useful, take it). Guys like NAK, Lafferty, Bryson, etc are expendable obviously if anybody would want them. There shouldn't be a single prospect in the system that is untouchable. I'm not saying to trade everyone I listed as expendable, but you should 100% see what you can get for any of them if anyone is interested.
  14. The sad thing about all of this is that from the last couple of months of 2021-22 through the 2022-23 season, we saw real progression individually as players and as a team. I thought by the last few weeks of 22/23 this was a damn good hockey team that was right there and ready to make the leap into the playoffs in 2023-24 with just a little bit of roster tweaking. Then last year, they regressed almost across the board. The development of the individual players (for the most part) seemed to stall out. That has carried over to this season and it's looking more and more like they peaked in Feb-Apr of 2023 as a team. Like maybe that was just a career year for many of these guys. My confidence has been slowly dwindling this season and after last night I am now 100% convinced this team and this core cannot get over the hump. Kevyn Adams' plan, that once appeared to be paying dividends has flopped and he needs to go. There needs to be a pretty significant roster shakeup and I don't want Adams making those decisions. I don't think we're looking at anything resembling a ground-up rebuild, but there needs to be an overhaul. From the front office on down, and for me that includes Lindy. I love Lindy, but I don't think he's the right coach to shepherd a team through (yet another) rebuild. I'll keep watching, because unfortunately this is the team I hitched my wagon to; but goddamn this is frustrating.
  15. If they don't shake up the roster, what's the point? It's abundantly clear this roster is not constructed well enough to compete at a high level. Continuing to throw the same guys out there and expecting different results is just ramming your head into a brick wall. DO SOMETHING.
  16. He's spent five years building a team with a .500 ceiling.
