I was just going to say something how about 2 seasons ago everyone was saying the Caps were entering a decline because their roster was aging and they had a bunch of holes. They have an actual management pyramid stacked with serious hockey people, made shrewd moves to improve their roster around their aging superstar and are currently, arguably, the best team in the league. And here we sit, with dumb and dumber in charge, going the other way with a poorly constructed roster and a front office unwilling to make any changes. Must be nice to root for a team that's actually serious about hockey.

I don't have NHL Network, so thankfully I won't be tempted to tune in and gaze at the crash. I anticipate...

Why should they? Terry, Kevyn have fostered a culture of excuse mongering. How many years have we heard they're the youngest team in hockey? Has anybody been held accountable for poor play? Does the FO make any real effort to improve the roster and get these "young" guys real help? They lost double-digits in a row and their anamorphic bologna sandwich owner flew in and told them he believes in them and no help is forthcoming. This organization is a case study in failed ownership and management.

This isn't a serious hockey organization.

I'm just following passively online, but just from viewing that and reading here, it sounds like absolute domination...which is unsurprising. And our speed bump GM will continue to do nothing as his team circles the drain leaving skid marks all over the bowl.

I never understood the animosity towards Jack. Or any former Sabres, really. This is a criminally incompetent organization, I cannot blame anyone for wanting to get out.

My girls asked if we could watch "Wicked" tonight, so we purchased it on Amazon Prime Video and it's currently playing here in the family room. Normally I'd head down to the basement fam room and put on the Sabres game. Tonight I decided I'd read instead. It appears I made the right choice. These guys suck out loud.

This was one of the most brain dead hockey plays I've ever seen and completely emblematic of the terminal issues with this team. And he wears a letter.

This team is the living example of the whole being less than the sum of its parts. We have skilled players, but the roster was assembled with no consideration given to how these individual pieces fit as a functional unit. Adams is criminally incompetent as an NHL GM. This is what nepotism hires breed.

I won't argue against Meatballs' flaws, in fact I agree. But that doesn't change the fact largely the same team ended with 91 pts two years ago, 84 last, and are now on pace to finish with 69 this season. Lindy isn't the right coach for this team. Never was. It was a nostalgia hire and is blowing up in their face.

Nah, Lindy isn't solely to blame. But when you replace one coach with another (and leave the roster largely unchanged), the goal is to be better under the new coach. We are objectively worse right jow than under Meatballs...by a decent margin. I'm not saying they should have kept Meatballs by any stretch, he took them as far as he could; but the coaching "search" last summer was a sham.

This season is exactly the type of year that causes serious hockey organizations to do a hard reset with heads on pikes. The Sabres aren't a serious hockey organization, though.
