Sabres sign Ryan McLeod to a 4 year extension
HumanSlinky39 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
He was always an all-out effort guy in EDM. His numbers were lower because he wasn't asked to do as much offensively. I suspect last season set a reasonable expectation going forward and if he's surrounded correctly, 45-55 points is what he'll provide. -
Sabres sign Ryan McLeod to a 4 year extension

I like this move. McLeod is a very good 3C, fast as hell, reasonably skilled, and good on the PK. Needed to happen, glad we get to keep him. -
Letting the days go by, 14 years and no playoffs Letting the days go by, no one wants to sign here Into the blue again, after the hope is all gone Once in a lifetime, misery flowing underground Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was

The annual Sabres fan exercise - day 1 of free agency. Run downstairs hoping to open some cool new toys from under the tree, open up a box of socks, some underwear, and an ugly wool sweater from Aunt Tilly.

Not that I was expecting much of anything, but *fart noise* Lyon is...meh. I'm sure he'll be fine like Anderson & Reimer before him. I'm glad they re-upped MacLeod. He's a good, speedy two-way 3C. If he can contribute 45-50 points, that'd be great. Danforth is probably a 4th line upgrade on Lafferty who was useless. Letting JBD walk after he played reasonably well is ***** dumb, but not surprising for KA. Don't see anything that makes us much better. Still a lot of runway until the season starts, so I suppose more moves could be coming but nothing to be overly optimistic about today.

Who's that guy that played a handful of games for the Caps last season? Him. That guy.

Why is Bryson still in this organization?

Nike ballcap, Yankees.

If they spend to the cap I'll eat my hat.

Vancouver is a dumpster fire.

VAN is taking on the full salary.

#9 - Do the Sabres make it or move it?

Adams loves his prospects. He's making the pick. -
Going home. That's cool for him and the Jets.

What, If Anything, Gives You Hope For Next Season?
HumanSlinky39 replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
Dahlin, Tage, Tuch. That's...about it. I'm all outta hope. This is a poorly constructed roster and (mostly) the same group isn't going to suddenly become a good hockey team at this point. They are what they are. The only path I see to improvement is that Jarmo has more say in the roster construction and HE is at the head of some moves this summer. There is talent here, has been for a couple of years; we need to move out some of the redundant pieces and get some good veteran players in here that better complement our current core. Maybe JJP is the first piece to start that process, but it sucks losing a young wing who appears to be on track to becoming a near ppg player. -
Draisaitl is something else, man. I'd take him over Auston Matthews without a moment's hesitation.

Chad D: expect a Byram trade at or around the draft
HumanSlinky39 replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Unless any draft pick received is intended to be part of a package to add good, NHL-ready players, ***** all the way off. -
Seems about right. Good season for Rasmus. If only he had more help.

Yeah, there's a coaching problem. "Accountability" was the buzz word after Lindy was hired, we saw none of that. The team had the same issues that the previous coach oversaw. Is it all Lindy's fault? Nah. The roster is very clearly flawed. But do I think Lindy helped? Also no. I never say how bringing in a retread coach with a spotty record in the years before his hire was going to move the team forward. It was the laziest "coaching search" outside of just promoting another assistant I've seen. You cannot convince me hiring Lindy wasn't done with the hopes nostalgia would be enough to pacify the fanbase. And we will very probably just get that next year with Appert. This isn't a serious hockey organization.

The Oilers have 2 of the best 5 players on the planet and have assembled a solid, cohesive supporting cast around them. They understood the assignment. Only question is will Skinner hold up.
