Dubious start again...

Small, skilled, quick, fast. The only guys I see there that might fit exclusively into that category would be Krebs, Quinn & Peterka. I wouldn't describe any of those lines as "small" except maybe the Cozens line, but Cozens is 6'3 and still filling out. On D, Power, 'Muel and Dahlin are all plenty big and physical...well, Powers may not be overly physical yet, but his length is gonna make him a problem for other teams. I actually think that's a pretty well constructed blend of skill and size. I'd like to see them add another power forward in FA, but we're moving in the right direction if these young guys keep developing and live up to their potential.

I think VGK is going to end up with a serious case of buyer's remorse not too far down the road. Eichel is a very talented player, but it feels like he's severely lacking the mental side that makes the great players great. He never should have been a Captain here. I mean, I get why he was given the C, but he was never ready or cut out for the job. I don't, and never have, got the slightest leadership vibe from Jack Eichel. VGK are a team that's getting older and don't have the capital or cap situation to fix things quickly. How long before "Malcontent Jack" shows up out there? Like I said above, Jack is a very talented player, but is he the kind of guy that is good enough to make everyone around him better and carry a flawed team? I haven't seen anything indicating he is.

Nice comeback, boys. On to the next one...

Well, this is going swell.

I'd be wary of him. Somebody's gonna be paying him for this season's production when it's been a major outlier for him. He's a good top 6 forward, but somebody is going to pay him like he's an 80-90 point guy and history says he's not.

Little frustrating that we were hitting everything that breathed against the Laffs the other night and I've hardly noticed any at all tonight. Punch STL in the mouth and watch them crumple like Toronto.

I love the Sabres' fan groups on Facebook strictly for the comedy. A bunch of people ready to label Power a bust midway through his second NHL game.

I rushed out and bought a Buffaslug jersey as soon as they were available because I'm an idiot. I hated that uniform/logo sofa king much. Thank God it was only around for 4 seasons.
