Until Adams is shown the door, hearing that they were given the day off after Uncle Terry's pep talk will be the exact moment I knew without a doubt this team was going nowhere with the current regime. They had just lost their tenth straight and took a day off which of course was followed by a 6-1 drubbing to Montreal. That's what happens when you're not a serious hockey organization. Despite recent indications of some growth, I still think this is a fatally flawed roster and will never sniff the playoffs as currently constructed. I've softened on my stance of it being necessary to move on from Lindy following the season. Last night wasn't pretty, but they've still won 6/8 and are playing better in the aggregate this month. If this can continue until the end of the season, I'm on board Lindy getting another year. But, we still need a new GM and I would love to see a restructuring of the FO to include bringing in a serious POHO. Somebody needs to implement some accountability within the organization and it starts with firing the guy that built this roster in his image only to see yet another season of fits and starts and overall failure.

So will the Coyotes.

With 25 games left, even the best teams are gonna lose a bunch of games. I guess "a bunch" is nebulous, but if we lose 8...which is a "bunch" to me, that would be 17-8. Bottom line, expecting them to play like .800 hockey is unreasonable. They're going to lose games like everyone else...which is fine...I just want to see the effort and some indication that we are progressing.

Probably not winning tonight, but I'd like to see maximum effort these last 15 mins. We're gonna lose a bunch of games if what's left and that's fine, but I want to see indications of sustained forward progress. Everyone should be playing like their jobs depend on it.

Great start!

This will be a real test. And a winnable one. The Canes are just 3-5-1 since trading Necas for Rantanen and have been outscored 10-3 in their two games since the break. Keep playing like they did against the Rags & in the 1st & 3rd periods the other night and they should be fine. Can't have bad periods against a team like this, though. 60 minute effort and NO ALAMO.

This is a team that for most of the last 2 seasons didn't appear to know how to close out games and win. That resulted in a lot of close losses and not many really ugly losses. At the same time, there have been fleeting glimpses of what they're capable that have given us some nice blowout wins. The Penguins are just an old, slow, and bad hockey team that get blown out a lot, but they also know how to gut out the occasional close win with guys like Crosby/Malkin/Letang. So, the surface-level numbers are deceiving. We're seeing some signs this month that maybe they're starting to crack the code, though. Of course, we've seen these signs before only for them to piss on their shoes again. We'll see if this is finally the progress we've been waiting for or if yet another set back is ahead.

'Muel was noticeable in a good way, too. They're almost looking like the promising team that closed out the 2022-23 season. I'm not letting myself get sucked in just yet to have the ripped out again, but there are some encouraging signs finally.

This warms the cockles of my heart. Maybe below the cockles. Maybe in the sub cockle area. Maybe in the liver, maybe in the kidneys. Maybe even in the colon.

Nice comeback. That's 6/7. On to the next one.
