I'm not reading too much into the last few games. Countless times in the last few years this team has shown signs of life only to fall back into old bad habits and lose several in a row. This season is a game-to-game proposition for me. I'll worry about playoff standings in March if they can keep their heads above water. Go Sabres.

Think the guy deserves a thread at this point. Is he "The Guy" long term? Way too early to tell, but there's a lot to like about him in the few games we've now seen... Good positioning Moves reasonably well laterally Seems to have pretty quick reflexes Strong rebound control Plays aggressively, but not overly so Doesn't seem to get rattled and/or intimidated The team seems to have confidence in him in net and I think it shows in their play in front of him I'm not saying he's the next Hasek or Miller by any stretch, but he's shown enough to me that he should be our guy until he gives a reason not to be. Maybe he's the Sabres' Doug Flutie...just hopefully with a longer shelf life.

And Draisaitl is DEADLY from right there. That was an incredible save. This kid looks like a potential real find. I'm not gonna go too crazy because I've seen countless unknown goalies get inserted and have a nice few/several games then turn into a pumpkin, but RIGHT NOW he's our best goaltender and the attributes are obvious. Hopefully he's a guy we look at a couple months down the road and say "Hey! Helluva job on that one Adams!"

I'm not even thinking about them "figuring it out." Been bit too many times buying into that crap. Just enjoy the wins and don't read too much into them. I'll decide if they figured it out in April.

That is the best game I've seen then play in a long time and I continue to be impressed with Ellis Let's keep it rollin', on to the next one.

Ellis should be the guy going forward. Ride him til he gives you a reason not to. He's earned it.

Back-to-back cup finals hangover? Seriously, though, I think they missed Hyman a lot, just got him back. Secondary scoring hasn't been there like last couple of years. I do think all the recent deep playoff runs have caused them to start slow, which has been common with them the last couple of years. They'll likely catch fire in December/January. I just don't see them getting over the Cup hump with Skinner/Picard. Skinner isn't very good and Picard's been awful this year.

Oilers will pay for the Sabres laundry for two weeks.

Oilers need to start taking goaltending seriously or they're gonna piss away McDavid and Draisaitl's primes. Skinner is butt cheeks.
