I have to say I'm disappointed in many of the posters here over the consternation over the lack of trades. The GM plan is to make us competitive for years and years, not to desperately make the playoffs to get swept, and give up assets. I'm keeping my eye on the big picture - this is clearly a development year which we may come close to making the playoffs, which is exciting - but next year is THE year. Hold firm GMKA.

What has Edmonton won while having the best player on the planet? Nada. You need to build a team around a core. Between him and the highly overpaid Nurse, they can't build a solid team. I bet the Sabres will win a cup before Edmonton.

I'm glad all these contending teams are making these deals. Every one, except whoever wins the Cup, will regret it. We benefit just by letting our team develop.

Totally disagree - our colours are Blue and Gold. I have never liked the stupid change of colours, it's ridiculous. If you want them as a third, fine, but that's it. Don't toss away the teams history because of a 90's fad of every team changing to black. It was dumb then, it's dumb now.
