I’m very interested to see if the Sabres view both Krebs & Sam as exclusively NHL guys or not. If they come back to Roch for the playoffs, that team can win the Calder Cup.

As an aside, I don’t believe any team was taking the night off against Buffalo in March 2022. There’s no doubt that both Vegas & Toronto did NOT take the Sabres lightly (given the weight/circumstances surrounding those games). While the Wild started their backup, he’s 12-3 this year. And Calgary ran their starting goalie out there.

If Johan has a market, could it mean Zemgus could have a market? I know Zemgus is well thought of in the room, but they’ve each had about the same season in 2022. Z’s salary is higher, and comes with an extra year.

So the Coyotes? I can’t fathom another team that will hover around the cap floor for the next four continuous seasons. But selling 5k seats a night, I guess it might fit the bill in terms of cash outlay versus cap cost.

I don’t hate it. There was a time that his maturity was in question and it was a non-starter. But time has come and gone…and Kane has appeared to come a long way. I would now trust him in a room full of young players.

Quinn is also out of the ROC lineup tonight and allegedly day-to-day. Maybe the NHL game is too demanding for his body type right now? Keep him in ROC on his fitness plan and see how he looks in the fall.

Agree. There’s just no value of Kane to a team this young…especially if you have to give up assets to obtain him. The Hawks would be doing him an injustice. A two year deal next offseason as a UFA for reasonable money to take the heat off of Quinn & Skinner? I’ll consider it.

He wasn’t available last year and Herbert had some outstanding performances. Plus he’s moving into his third year. His arrow is trending up. To me, Russ is more of an unknown for his ceiling. Plus a new offense. I’ll take Herbie.
