  1. Highly Suspect at the Rapids in October. šŸ¤˜šŸ¼
  2. Haha we were in the same section. I thought the show was excellent.
  3. My personal opinion is none, and itā€™s too early to make a judgement. Theyā€™re all pretty safe for now. I think Mitts has been at the gym all summer long thinking Tageā€™s stat line was what his should have been (while the injury bug bit him). Mitts was penciled in as 1C coming out of camp. I think we see a very motivated player this year. Heā€™s untouchable for me in 22-23. As many have said, Krebs hasnā€™t found his role yet. I think this season plays that out for him. The Sabres did not buy out VOā€™s first UFA season with a two year deal to trade him. A lot can happen between now and deadline 23-24, but I donā€™t see any of them going anywhere for the next twelve months.
  4. This was max value for Calgary. Their D (which already is good) got better, they replaced the lost offense (Mac and Hub are both Canadianā€”may increase odds of re-signing), they got a guy who scored 20 goals in the AHL last year as a rookie, and a first round pickā€¦all for a guy who didnā€™t want to be there anymore. Maybe you were expecting a full on re-build after losing their top line? If thatā€™s the case, now they donā€™t have to immediately. They get another kick at the can with a veteran coach. And as you said, deadline rental deals for Mac & Hub (if things donā€™t go well) will bring back lots of value. I think they did great.
  5. Forward group will be fine in ROC. This doesnā€™t speak to the conversation of asset management, but still deep for next year. Imagine if Peterka or Quinn doesnā€™t make the big club? Not saying there wouldnā€™t be room for R2, but the Amerks will be fine.
  6. I donā€™t think so because they still hold his rights in North America, it was a well-known ā€œsecretā€ he was ready to move to Europe, and the return would have been a late round pick at best.
  7. Because the Pens are still trying to win and the Hawks are not. Sid has no motivation to leave and Kane might still want to try to win a cup.
  8. Someone named Beck Warm plays hockey and signed with the Amerks.
  9. I did not look up stats as a comparable, but I see Dixon Ward style of vision and passing. With hustle. A top 9 on PP2. But I do not see a first line player.
  10. Zack busted up his knee during a performance. Looks like he was seated for the last couple shows.
  11. Thank you for tipping me off to this. I had no idea. Looks like they played Ottawa last night, so fingers crossed!
  12. I havenā€™t read many posts in this thread, but my reaction is perhaps the recently hired analytics department might pay dividends this time around? Also, no prospect tore up the AHL like Quinn & Peterka, so that is a positive difference.
  13. I hope youā€™re right about the decent goaltending assessment!
  14. If the Sabres were trying to win the cup next year, I would totally agree with you. And thereā€™s always room for a player like the one youā€™re speaking of. But since the Sabres are realistically resigned to another year of growth, I want the high ceiling offensive guys in the lineup next year.
  15. The distinct advantage I think the Sabres have here are the highest ceiling defenseman of comparison. While it is close as all three teams gave up more than the league average (Buffalo was best of the three in 21-22), I expect shots against/shot suppression to be a leading factor for the Sabres rise relative to the Sens/Wings. This isnā€™t to say Meatballs will employ a defense-first strategy, but cream rises to the top. Dahlin/Power/Mule will go a long way toward tipping the scales in the Sabres favor. Please oh please let Comrie be NHL averageā€¦if so, I like Buffalo in this comparison.
  16. Iā€™m guessing your HRR comes from Horny Rump Riding
  17. Honestly, I miss these. I like the current, but would be happy if they went back to red.
  18. My view from last night
  19. Dear Mods, I Lyubushkinā€™d her so deeply that weā€™re married. Now she calls me Ilya for short.
  20. I can see myself using it as a verb. ā€œDid you really just Lyubushkin the table when you walked by?ā€ This might be specific to my clumsy eleven year old. ā€œI just Lyubushkinā€™d that garbage plate.ā€ And then thereā€™s the innuendo opportunity. ā€If you touch my Lyubushkin, thereā€™s no turning back.ā€ So yea, I really like the name/term Lyubushkin and I look forward to using it in all situations.
  21. I watch the Bolts a lot (my folks live in St. Pete and root for Tampa). Some people think itā€™s sacrilege to have a second favorite team, but I donā€™t have a problem with doing that. All of this to say that I as a GM would have signed the Cernak & Cirelli deals in an instant. Both are home runs. As a Sabres fan first, Iā€™m jealous.
  22. I just love saying Lyubushkin. I started calling my kid Lyubushkin instead of his name, Dean (heā€™s 11 and doesnā€™t care about sports), today because itā€™s so much fun. GET IN THE CAR LYUBUSHKIN!!
  23. Agree. Progression of the kids cannot be relied upon, but is reasonable. Lots of things at playā€¦did other teams get worse today? Will the Sabres see less backup goaltenders? Will they be less bit by the injury bug than others? A lot of unknown factors. But baselining last year to this year is encouraging.
  24. Iā€™m inferring this is good news for the family.
