  1. Anybody want a young RD with no path toward playing time with the NYR?
  2. The finger lakes are having an issue with Harmful Algae Blooms, also known as cyanobacteria. It’s nasty stuff. It can kill your dog if ingested and you can’t swim in it. Smaller/shallower/warmer lakes are more susceptible, but it has been reported on Seneca Lake (the biggest finger lake by depth). Honeoye Lake is a MESS. It really sucks. I just want to enjoy the lakes, but it isn’t safe.
  3. This also rewards the homegrown “want to be here” type of player the team is so desperate to cultivate. Nice signing.
  4. News: The Bills have placed CB Tre’Davious White on the Reserve/PUP list. #BillsMafia Details: https://bufbills.co/3AZcBML
  5. I find it hard to know what else the Bills could have/should have done 4-6 weeks ago when MA made the team aware. 1) They had a tell-all conversation with the player. We don’t know if he was completely honest with the Bills. 2) They contacted the accuser’s representation. 3) They were made aware that there was an ongoing criminal investigation. We all know the San Diego police department is not at liberty to discuss any details of said ongoing investigation. If the Bills called the University (fair to assume), they were told/would have been told that the University was asked to defer the investigation to the police. What else do people expect would be additional and reasonable steps to take? I guess they could have hired their own private investigator, but to me that’s potentially interfering with an actual criminal investigation. The hand-wringing of the fanbase and media that “the team hoped the allegations wouldn’t see the light of day” doesn’t feel right. And with all that said, the choice to move on from MA given what has transpired does feel right. It is a tough and ugly situation.
  6. Since McDermott comes from a defensive back background, I’m not concerned. I’m more concerned about the linebacker corps.
  7. How about Rhode Island? Throwing a dart based on the size of the state.
  8. I recently walked out of an Arby’s in Watkins Glen and saw a sticker by the door that said something like, “We hope you enjoyed your trip to the top of the food chain.” It made me giggle to myself I really dug the smokehouse brisket. And their curly fries are the best fast food fries in the country. Anyway, I’m going with North & South Dakota for no good reason at all.
  9. I am not in the law field, but my understanding is that California has a pretty black and white statutory rape guideline. If you’re under 18, you’re a minor and cannot give consent. The complaint establishes that Araiza should have known her age. And not knowing her age at the time isn’t a legal defense. I think it is very likely that a statutory charge is coming. Which would lead me to think the Bills would know this and move on immediately. But the fact that they haven’t makes me wonder why…
  10. I voted the “more of” category. I see Dylan to be a 6’ 3”, 200 pound problem for opponents. I don’t know if his offensive skills will score more than 20G per year, but he’s got the heart of a Drury (without the demanding & off-putting demeanor). I see the potential to be a very reliable 55-60 pt guy who you can count on. He will win more face offs that he will lose (currently at 46%-ish win percentage for his career), and the Sabres will end up depending on him in critical moments. I expect him to be a “glue” guy to the new core. From my observations of his play and personality, I expect him to continue to grow into a 2C role and flourish.
  11. I am not a barstool guy, but this made me LOL
  12. I bet there aren’t many fans who feel like the team is going in the wrong direction. It’s nearly impossible. Who doesn’t want to see a homegrown youth movement? Buffalo has sucked for so long that they’ve collected a huge pool of top ten draft selections. So this would breed confidence that better days are ahead. And I think most folks like the coach. I am confident in the front office because of the establishment of a qualified analytics department. I guess the only negative might be that some fans want to spend to the cap and try to be as competitive as possible immediately. Clearly that’s not the plan. I’m also sure that many don’t approve of the handling of the goaltending position so far, but the potential of the pipeline is exciting. So yes, I’m drinking Kevyn’s blue and gold kool-aid
  13. Any quote or press release referencing the word “triggered” is going down the wrong path. Both the creeper and the organization made that reference in the last week. It would be hard for me to surrender my fandom to a franchise I grew up with, but if I were a Browns fan…I think I would feel compelled to do it.
  14. If there are additional spots, I would like to join.
  15. I guess your unique experiences can lead to your own conclusions, but I do not agree. It’s why I feel compelled to respond. I don’t want someone who doesn’t live here to take your statement as fact. I am a ROC native (lived in Gates, Spencerport high school, SUNY Brockport). I have lived in the city since 2005 (upon returning from 1.5 years in FL), and a city of ROC homeowner since 2007. Racism is not unique to this area. Nor do I see it more pronounced than other regions of this country. Nothing about this event is unique to this area, except the fact that they were objectifying local politicians. But again, not a unique circumstance. ***** like this happens everywhere. And it is sad. But it doesn’t speak for the region. And maybe you shouldn’t either. 🤷‍♂️
  16. Going to the 04 Red Sox World Series parade was the best day of my life. I don’t know what I would do, but I would do something irrational to have something like that be in Buffalo.
  17. I think the need at center is there, but only if you were trying to win a Stanley Cup next year. Since the Sabres philosophy is to “play up” from the player’s current level, it makes total sense to have Mitts, Cozens, Krebs to play center and learn on the fly behind Tage. The team does not want to block this development. Just have to hope people stay healthy, or a move will be required (including propping up the C position in ROC).
  18. I am not a pessimistic fan. I’m usually the glass half-full type. But I don’t expect anything but an injury and a grade of incomplete. 😬
  19. And there’s the extension. Some freezing cold takes in this thread.
  20. KO telling the story of talking to the prospects during dev camp & answering the question, “How do you earn a coach’s trust?” Loosely transcribed, he said it used to be you couldn’t turn pucks over at the blue line. Absolutely not. Not happening. KO went on to say Meatballs preaches the psychology of playing fearless. “No other way to play. Not playing on your heels (and worrying about turnovers or the blue line). That’s how you’re going to play your best. If you’re on your heels, your going to stink. Why would you play any other way? You see it all the time, guys get tight in tight games. Our whole mentality is learn how to attack. Attack, attack, attack. Make plays. Play fearless. When you screw up, get back. But the whole fearless mentality is really good for our team.”
  21. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-07-29/buffalo-bills-owner-backs-startup-targeting-wealth-advisory-boom?utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&utm_content=business&utm_source=twitter&cmpid=socialflow-twitter-business&utm_medium=social According to Bloomberg‘s estimates, TP is worth $7.7 billion. 👀👀
  22. Why are we assuming neither player is open to a long-term deal in Calgary? Or is this just an assumption that Calgary isn’t interested in the player long-term?
