I support this. I had a sneaking suspicion that he might move upstairs to a role of President of Hockey Ops at some point due to the complications with Kim’s health…and this extension doesn’t preclude that. But, to me it shows that KA wants to be the GM and I’m onboard.

Would be nice to see Knox more involved today. If McKenzie and his speed is on the outside in place of Gabe, that’ll give Dawson a lot of room to operate.

Totally agree. The thing I have noticed is how infrequently a QB will throw for the distance needed. If it’s 3rd and 10, most QB’s are throwing air yards for seven and asking the WR to make a play. The Bills/Josh throws for the line to gain the majority of the time. It’s so refreshing to see Buffalo roll out an aggressive offense. I still shake my head in wonderment that this is my favorite team 😀

The deal could age well given the expected increase in salary cap by the midpoint of this deal. I think that was part of KA’s thinking to lock Tage up now.

Jessie Pegula bowed out in the quarterfinals of the US Open to the #1 ranked player in the world tonight. It’s the second time this year that she has lost to Swiatek in the QF of a major (French Open). Tonight was pretty compelling and a bit disappointing. After losing the first set 6-3, Pegula broke Swiatek’s serve to tie the second set 5-5. On her serve, she led 40-love with a chance to take a commanding lead. She gave it all back and was broken back. She forced a second set tie-break at 6-6, but couldn’t prevail. I was amazed at how level-headed she played. She rarely showed emotion and was business-like onto the next point. It was impressive. I felt like the crowd was waiting for her to show some emotion to really get raucous, but never quite got there. Still, her rise in women’s tennis has been nothing short of phenomenal. At age 28, she has vaulted herself into the top ten in the world in both singles and doubles. Top ten in the world. Amazing.

I think Petey truly believes that last season cannot be taken seriously as a baseline because the Sabres were out of playoff contention in the first two months of the season. I am paraphrasing, but he’s said before that it’s a lot easier to excel when the games “don’t mean anything.” Vanek is also the same. In reference to his sourpuss perspective, I agree with you a little bit. I think Petey just fell out of love with hockey. So he’s generally more pessimistic on everything involving the team/the game. It’s kind of like his path in the NHL. He did what he had to do in the NHL to keep the paychecks coming. And now with this podcast…He’s doing what he has to do to keep the paychecks coming. With that said, I prefer him to Rivet all day everyday. Simply reading this board would make him a better podcaster and Sabres resource, but he can’t even be bothered to do that.

He’s on his 2.5M per year bridge deal. The Rangers only have 1M in cap space at the moment. So maybe if the Sabres take some salary?

He’s got two years left on his ELC. The Rangers are probably looking for an NHL player on an ELC in return. So that would be one of Mule, Power, Krebs, Cozens, Quinn, or Peterka. I can’t imagine the Sabres are dealing one of those guys for him.

I think there’s a logjam on the right side for the NYR. Fox & Trouba are blockers. And Lundkvist knows he isn’t going to get PP time over either of those two.
