  1. Agree from a production standpoint. But holy smokes this kid is going to be GOOD. He is a puck hound and he’s good in tight space. In terms of development, he deserves and needs to be here. Sure his bridge deal might be a bit more expensive, but he’s getting better faster by playing here now. I’m excited for him maturing sooner by playing this level of competition!
  2. There was a time that I was concerned about Comrie being claimed on waivers. That time has passed. If another team claims him, then our three headed monster is dead. If not, Comrie gets sent down and hopefully the Amerks get better. The only mud in the water is if we think Levi is good enough to be NHL #2 (which he is), but one start a week isn’t the best for his development. I’m not saying Levi needs AHL bus rides, but he needs games. Thats the rub. I want to win now and win next year too. Levi being a workhorse somewhere is important. It’s complicated.
  3. What is your definition of a hit piece? Asking because drudging up a comment that were known to the Bills administration four years ago (while protecting the people “they” cover via anonymous sources) while assaulting a man’s character (I assume you read the article) with unnamed sources could qualify as that. I’m happy to be wrong of your angle is different.
  4. IMO it isn’t an ax to grind. His football coverage is a fee service at $8/month. He needs to sell subscriptions to support a living. So leaning into long form and salacious stories is how he does that. Could these be considered hit pieces to sell subscriptions and drum up awareness of his work? Absolutely.
  5. Thank you. Wasn’t the offer of a one year deal offered by Muckler and then rescinded by Darcy? It was a long time ago, but I seem to remember that.
  6. This isn’t your point, but there’s something about rooting for the small guy, the tough luck team, the perennial loser, the “cursed”…because if they ever become the little engine that could, then it’s even sweeter. Buffalo fits that bill as well.
  7. Wait, wasn’t the Nolan thing with Muckler?
  8. Benson is not on the WJC roster. He’s staying in Buffalo.
  9. The crazy think is the AFC has really behaved for helping Buffalo. I have no confidence the Bills will win on Sunday, but if they do…there’s definitely an opportunity to sneak in and then let’s see what happens.
  10. The only guy I could make a case for currently on this team that could be that guy is EJ, and he was a healthy scratch tonight. The GM is failing this franchise.
  11. At least in pond hockey, you trade chances with the other team and hope for the best. The Sabres aren’t out chancing most teams. But I agree, lots of floating and backwards passes in their own zone.
  12. Blowing it all up would be a reverse rebuild. It would mean losing a trade on paper to bring in NHL talent for young high level prospects. That’s what the majority of the fanbase is asking for.
  13. Welp, I guess we should have seen the writing on the wall when they iced the youngest team in the nhl. Again.
  14. I was making a joke. It is hard to have an engaging/serious conversation with you when you post like this.
  15. Correlation does not imply causation. Did Ruff need to beat a Krueger stink off a team? Did Ruff get handed the youngest team in hockey? Did Ruff get a rookie goalie to roll with in his second and third full season (UPL last year and Levi this year)? Of course not. But please continue.
  16. It doesn’t change why YOU don’t want to go to the BCA. Amerks attendance is fine. Adam Sandler and TOOL just sold out the BCA last month. You’re scared for your own reasons and you’re acting like most people are like you. There are mote folks who are not.
  17. I’m not doing this with you because I’m not here to defend the Sabres or the GM.
  18. Good point. And not only that, but the Sabres were Lindy’s first head coaching gig. Granato has been a coach at every level of hockey and has routinely gotten winning results.
  19. Oh right, like the Ford family in Detroit for instance? Also, the spirit of my reply was that a new owner two years ago or today doesn’t change the course of this current rebuild. If you don’t accept the Jack Eichel trade as an obvious pivot and want to throw poop on the Pegulas, go right ahead.
  20. Well I live in the city and I could not disagree with you more.
  21. This is a nameless and faceless message board, so you are entitled to say whatever you want. But a new owner doesn’t fix 23-24 and the reset button was hit the day Eichel was traded. Like it or not. It has been slightly over two years since then. Businesses don’t make decisions based on what happened ten years ago. They aren’t emotional like us fans are. Is it appropriate to hold ownership accountable for this 12 year mess? YES! Is the answer selling the team? Probably not. And listen, I love that you care. I do too! But regardless of the owner, the only thing that would have changed during the last two years was your patience with the new guy.
  22. I think the Sabres situation and the Bills situation are a little different.
