With baseball season around the corner, here is what Cleveland is doing with their broadcasts. If the Sabres did this, I would pay it. It would be like a buck a game.

Leone also called out RyJo & Komarov on Sabres Live today. Said they’ve been playing hard minutes and excelled. He was complimentary of Metsa of his effort and defending as a smaller guy. He was also saying Levi has impressed in getting whistles during chaos and working very hard. We know Levi may have outgrown AHL competition, but he’s excelling instead of stagnating. You love to see it.

I’m addicted to this franchise. I was playing a game with the family tonight called Loaded Questions. The question was what is the one thing you would wish for in this lifetime? My wife went first and said health and happiness for all of her family and friends. I said one Sabres Stanley Cup win before I die. And I meant it.

When I was filled with hopium two years ago, I said that both teams could still win that trade even though Vegas won the Cup. I was wrong.

The Amerks are a wagon. Aube-Kubel with two tonight, Murray (21) and Rosen (24) also scored, and they’ve pushed their winning streak to six. Levi excellent tonight as well in the 5-1 win against third place Cleveland. They’re at 29-12-3-1 on the year, which is the second best record in the league. I’m saving my pennies to follow their playoff run in the spring instead of going to Sabres games for the rest of the year.

The Sabres need a longer term answer than a few games.

I get it. He has been steady eddy here in ROC. But I would prefer to continue for him to marinate here. At some point, this franchise needs to develop guys properly and throwing ANOTHER kid into The Show to see what happens is not the correct decision. I believe he’s better off in the A as long as possible.

Can you explain why it complicates a buyout? I can’t find anything stating an injured player cannot be bought out.

On Muel, this caught my eye: “Injured Mattias Samuelsson, out for the remainder of the season, but signed at a $4.285 million deal through 2029-30, is as well.“ The bolded…has that been reported anywhere else?

I think this is just the internet being the internet. Tuch and Cozens are the road game alternate captains. Muel and Tage are the home game alternate captains. Since Muel & Tage were both out injured on Tuesday, the Sabres didn’t have an alternate captain on the ice. But none of that means someone got stripped of a letter. Publicly embarrassing a player by stripping a letter mid-season would mean game-over for that player in that locker room. The time for changes like that is in the offseason.

The week the signing was announced, Seravalli said to an NHL scout, “tell me what you’ve seen from Mattias Samuelsson, and he said, here’s what he looks like in our scouting rankings… He gave Samuelsson a 4.5/10 in intelligence, three in skillset, one in offensive instincts, 5.5 in defensive instincts, 5.5 in competitive toughness, and an overall score of 4.4 out of 10.
