Real Cloutier (83-84) not to be confused with Jacques Cloutier (played for most of the 80's).

GDT- Sabres at Islanders, 12/30/2021, 7:30pm ET, MSG, WGR

Yes I agree that it definitely won't be a straight line. Look at this year and the players that have played better than expected and others that have not and then others injured. Hard to predict but I am in agreement that 2023 looks most likely as the season. -

I look forward to the day when the Sabres are no longer the tonic needed for struggling teams to break out of their slumps. -

I read a thread that said this was now a strength for the Sabres.............so hard to choose. -

You are very optimistic this evening. -
So Sabres should be an easy sell for him. What are the thoughts on his talent level for the NHL?

Man I hope the scary one (of the 3 ghosts) is the Ghost of Sabres Present.

As I recall Lindy quite often had really good results after the Christmas breaks when he coached the Sabres. But we've got the debut of Tuch, JJP, and Krebs to counteract that. Good game in store tonight. Sabres win. -
Sabres announce Peyton Krebs, JJ Peterka and Artuu Ruotsalainen called Up
Digger replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
It's great that Peterka's parents are in town for Christmas and hopefully will get to see their son make his NHL debut. Great story and hope he plays well. -
You sound good to me through 2 periods.

I remember that the hockey hall of fame had an exhibit where they had the play by play call from many of the biggest NHL goals and then you could try to do your own version. Much harder than I thought. It's a real skill to call a game well. @PromoTheRobot I'm sure it will be great. Have fun.

That's a great idea to honor Andreychuk during this game.

Who Does KA Trade at the Deadline and What Does He Get For Them?
Digger replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Interesting look at the teams that might (or most likely will) be sellers at the deadline. -
So where does Tage slide into assuming he's not out? Asplund Thompson Olofsson? They did have some nice chemistry earlier. Is Tuch ready to go?

GDT: Seattle at Buffalo-November 29, 2021-7pm-MSG, ESPN+, WGR550

I was watching a bit of the Seattle Edmonton game last night on HNIC and they brought up how popular Tanev has been with the Seattle fan base and then they brought up him chirping Skinner about his contract in the last Sabres game. Love the trash talk but surprised that it's about a contract. Maybe he's a Sabres fan deep down. 😏 -
To be fair, the thread title "Is Dahlin Dumb?" is asking for a response and there have been many Sabre fans on this board (a lot of fans?) that are very critical of his play ignoring the good plays and just focusing on the mistakes. I'm happy with Dahlin as a defenseman so far but I do wish that we could find him a better RD defense partner for him. He's had some struggles this season but I would say most of our young players have had some struggles. All first overall picks come with extra pressure to be extra special. Power will need to deal with that too. Down the road I hope we will have a very strong defense.

OT: Microsoft almost forced a Windows 11 upgrade on me

Yes not a big fan of automatic updates. I think the only way to control them is to turn off updates and then sort through what you want to allow. -
Montreal for me followed by Toronto. I take extra pleasure in seeing the Sabres beat both of these teams.

I don't know but I agree with your points that having too many rookies at one time is pretty hard to manage. I imagine most of us think that it is Adam's plan because of the number of JAG's on one year contracts or expiring contracts. I guess we will see how the Rochester guys develop this season and how the end of the year looks (with potential AHL call ups and college signings) to get a glimpse of what Adams is planning for next season.
-
I finally had the time to catch up on this thread. I suppose I was skipping this one because I'm not interested in seeing Adams fired. But the posts and arguments have been an entertaining read. Well done. Like most I'm excited about the prospects in the current system developing this year and seeing where they might slot in next season. I do worry about just giving out spots next season because the JAG's are just holding their spots this season. But we will see if it works. I'm optimistic but cautious that it will take time to add that many rookies to a NHL lineup regardless of their talent level. Stay the course Kevin Adams. He needs to be safe for 2 more seasons and hopefully by then we are back to some sort of relevance and in the playoffs again.

I like Tuch with Cozens and Krebs on LW. Quinn could play with Mitts.
-
Let's just send Kyle as the nice guy award for this season.

To clarify your point are you thinking that Dahlin playing for Sweden will help him with his confidence coming back to the Sabres?
