  1. Gotta think losing Skinner and VO and their goals we may become a Jersey clone playing boring defensive style hockey. Can't say I look forward to that...preferred two years when they scored lots and were at least exciting. I am not convinced that many on this team can suddenly learn the concept of playing defensive hockey good enough to actually succeed.
  2. We are faster and bigger...that is good in itself. And of course you have to give something good to get something good back. We need this kind of player NOW and have lots of other nice prospects for the future. The future is NOW and this year coming up will determine KA's job thereafter...
  3. Many forget the guy scored well over 20 goals few years back and did not even get a ton of playing time. I have no doubt he will do well, as will Jeffy. Losing a lot of goal right there...
  4. does not score as much as Grigs did he? We replace Skinner, VO and Grigs (like 50 goals) with 4th liners...can't wait for next season already said no one
  5. yep we are adding 4th liners while letting a ton of goals go elsewhere. whatever
  6. well that means that everybody's favorite whipping boys (Skinner, VO, Brsyon) will be gone so we should be a whole lot better this year I guess. Seems KA has been listening to all you on this board...
  7. I have to admit I find it rather strange that we are letting VO go and now Skinner too when we had problems scoring last year? I actually like OV and think that he will do very well with Pittsburg or whoever he signs with. Skinner will score 30+ goals for Toronto when he signs for cheap...then we can all lament letting him go as we already do with a ton of ex-Sabres...
  8. The old saying "that's why they play the games"...even though we all thought Dallas would easily beat the Oil things happen. Like winning a game on two power play goials and only having 10 shots on goal! Oh and Florida plays agreeively and tends to tak epenalites which will spell doom for them. The Oilers PP is downright scary...
  9. Yikes..Rangers looking good. Getting scoring from every line and Florida seems to be relying far too much on one line. Sure hate the thought of a Rangers/Oilers final...
  10. Maybe KA is smarter then we think and he will at some point trade Byram for that elsuive 2nd center...or package one of our d-men with propects and/or picks for said centerman. Mitts was not going to come cheap but maybe now we can trade for a center who is more affordable?
  11. Funny to think now that we got one Sam and could have drafted the other Sam instead, and now both are on Florida. I still think that even now we made the right choice but SB would sure look good in a Sabre uniform.
  12. Trust me I am not saying by any means that I agree or think that they should all stay and go into next season with the same personnel. I really do not care in fact either way, but as has been pointed out their "big guns" al have no move contracts, and who would want Marner and/or Travares at their price-points? Treliving is a joke who totally detroyed Calgary and it is crazy that the leafs immediately hired him after being fired. Shanhan and company have accomplished nothing really but they are really pushing the "boy we sure shopwed a lot of hear tand drive by coming back to tie the series" rhetoric up here in Ontario (I was born and raised in Toronto suburbs and m ybro was a good foalie in the Leaf organization and was tutroed at one point by Johnny Bower and even had equipment given to him from Mr. Bower and I grew up playing and coaching hockey). I now live north of TO but even on facebook it is full of Leaf fans spewing their love for the team and how they battled back. So it is no tonly Keefe but even th efans are guilty of the continued love-affair...
  13. Having played first without Nylander, then Mathews, probably saved a lot of jobs on the Leafs. If they had lost 4-1 heads were going to roll...coach Sheldon gone for sure, and who knows what other changes. Instead, they are now looking at it as some sort of moral victory that they battled back from down 3-1 without their superstar Mathews. Hear them talking of how coach was so proud of his team for battling back under such trying circumstances. Guess it'll be the same old same old for the Leafs and thei rfans next year as well then...
  14. I guess I am just getting terribly cynical in my old age but I figured the NHL would love nothing more then a game 7 Saturday night in prime time TV. Funny Sabres get completely trashed any time they look "uninterested" or "not ready" yet that is exactly how the B's have looked the past 2 games. Leafs were in a win-win as if they lost they would just blame injuries to Nylander then Mathews and that took the pressure off of them. This may save that lousy coach's job they have...
