Spending significant time in Haiti changed how we drink coffee at our house. We primarily drink Singing Rooster coffee, any of their varieties are great, but Gwo Chavel is probably their best. Singing Rooster is a Direct Trade organization. I’m sure you’re familiar with Fair Trade products? That is when the producer receives a fair price for their product. Direct Trade is a level better than Fair Trade ... the Haitian farmer receive at least $3 of every bag of coffee that the Singing Rooster Coop sells. This impacts many people and makes life better for them. Plus ... Haitian coffee is absolutely splendid. It has hints of chocolate in nearly every variety.

Our children's ministry starts next week in Martinsville at Clearview Wesleyan Church. We have programs for all ages up through high school and we'd love to have your family involved. There is no cost for kids to be a part of the ministry and it's a great opportunity to learn about God's way for living in this world.

This is a great example of why the Wesleyan Church has a hospital on the island of LaGonave. This is especially important right now while many of the state run hospitals are experiencing a strike by the doctors (due to not being paid this year). Consider supporting this truly life giving work ... and maybe planning how your church can work with the hospital long term.
