  1. Going to burn my bad juju candle and sacrifice a deer, (Dont worry, there are millions where i live), wear my lucky socks and not change my dirty underwear and hope they win. My good news is that i love hockey and the Sabres and wont freak even if they lose. I only break things on the Bills...LOL
  2. Ughhhhh... another physical forechecking team. Hoping for a a good team play and a win, but if Achilles heel holds true.... We lose by 2
  3. Do not think this is the first whiff of weakness. Lack of physicality has been here for years. Now, to be fair, as some have said, we "may" have that in house as the kids get stronger, but from first glances, i do not see it as of yet. Definitely agree on building long term, but, the team is close to making the playoffs, and any experience we can give the team the better. I am sure we can solve some the needs now without mortgaging the farm.
  4. Talent does not need to be bigger, just more physical and tenacious. I would not mind another more physical defensive dman. Hoping that Power turns more physical as he gains some strength. Bush needs become a 7th D as he has been terrible on all aspects since he has came back.
  5. I think that point zoomed on you, let me clarify. Dahlin is NOT a physical defenseman, he is a playmaker. You would expect more of that from Bushman and Muel. Pronger and Chara were VERY physical dmen. If our team is going to rely on Dahlin to be their physicality, then we are in trouble. I AM happy when I see a great hit, no matter who on the team is doing it, but would like to see players on this team more like Pronger and or Chara, and hell maybe a forward or two that can do it REGULARLY, not once in a blue moon. We need our physical pest.
  6. All i have to say is bye B****! His numbers are not as good as last year, and Levi is much better.
  7. The biggest problem with the team is they are NON PHYSICAL! We cannot handle physical teams, especially ones that forecheck hard. Bush sucks and is now a liability and you do not want your best defenseman running around trying to lay people out. We will not win against the Jets and Preds as they are both physical heavy forechecking teams. We will play well as they can but we are a talent based team, not a physical team. Need to find that middle ground of talent and physicality.
  8. Last night was a tire fire in almost all areas.... Stick handling, unable to get a bouncing puck, covering the front of the net, Passing, speed, shall i go on?? They need to play Sabres hockey or another loss is on the way.
  9. As i have been saying for awhile, a heavy physical forecheck is our Achilles heel. We are not strong and physical enough to return the favor and or win the battles. I think some of the kids may get stronger but the physical part of the game is not really there. I also think it is time to bust up the kid line and spread some of that talent. Children cannot learn from children. Spread them out and let them learn. 25 is going to be good, but i hope he gets stronger and more physical as he had opportunities to lay some body last night and he backed off. Also one last thing.... Bush looks horrible. We need his nastiness and it has disappeared. That makes him useless in everything other then the 7 spot. We need a nasty dman to clear the net. He is definitely not in this organization.
  10. As heavy as my heart is for Damar, i will watch and hope for some inspire and uplifting play. Hope the boys in blue play with a heavy Buffalo heart and shut Ovie down!
  11. I have to say there are great points on both sides for keeping and or sending him down. There is also another side, keeping the team winning. I was always hoping for a 6k bloom to a #1 NHL minder but damn he is taking awhile (Just like Tage did). It is not fair to Comrie as he had a very bad shake with few games with a NHL defense in front of him. But, Anderson is not our future and he knows that. If (And thats a huge IF) both 6K and Comrie starting lighting it up as the Minders, Anderson needs to be waived or asked to coach. Playing the goalie carousel to keep feelings from being hurt is BS. Best shot to win and that should only be it.
  12. If 6K keeps playing well, then he stays up. plain and simple. He was our goalie of the future a couple of years ago, give him his fair shot. A fair shot is not a few games then sent back down. Send Comrie down for a conditioning stint and then make a decision if 6K falters again.
  13. No thank you! If we are going for someone, get someone with some size, defensive minded that can grind out opponents on the boards.
  14. 6K stole that game, and it is nice to see him play well. He has been talked about as being a possible #1 for years and has only shown glimpses of it. Another glimpse last night and i would love to see more of that! Missing our starting D is really showing. Our top guys cannot go on playing 30+ mins a night!! I am sorry, but Asplund needs to play more. He is a defensive playing forward and would help a bit in a 3rd like last night!
  15. 2nd best to McJesus
  16. I was more specific to Portillo - Not having as great of a year this year, so his value could drop and Johnson. Definitely could use him as we need more defensive help as in prospect.
  17. Not have OvenChicken break more milestones
  18. If we can pop off a 6 or 7 game win streak and play above .500 we will be back in the race. Our offense should get us there and once (If ever) our defense can get healthy and stay that way.......
  19. With all the Defensive problems and all the scoring we are doing, our 2 college undecided kids should get a warm and fuzzy about actually coming to Buffalo!!! You think?
  20. I was wondering when this was going to appear!! I do not think Eichel is going to be playing tonight as he is on IR i think. Still one of the best teams in the league. Score much and often against them!!! GO SABRES!!!
  21. Once Skinny comes back, where would you want Mitts? The rest of the lines seems to be Gelling. I think it is time to make a team improvement and trade him.
  22. We are 7 points out with 50 games to go. I do not care how many teams we have to jump, we are not out of it! Some solid goaltending and beating the teams in front of us will make up the difference. Although we cannot wait to trade deadline to make some additions. We need to add what we need now!
  23. Loved this game!!! Even the first 2 periods was fun to watch. All the shots were not high chance territory and wanted to see how the boys in blue responded. Some thoughts and observations: - Mitts did not look out of place on the 1st line, but you can tell he is not on the same talent level as TT and Tuch. - Krebs was highly noticeable! He was doing everything. Skating fast, backchecking, hitting and you could see he was having some serious fun out there. If thats what he can become, yes sir i will have another! - If the 3rd and 4th line can blossom as they played last night, Mitts could become expendable. Trade bait for a Minder or a defensive Dman? - Nice to see scoring from all lines and not leaning on the first line (Even though they had 1/2 the goals!) - The Sabres actually figured out the heavy forecheck and was patient and wore it down. By the mid of the 3rd the Kings looked exhausted and the Sabres were flying all over the place. All in all it was a fun game to watch! hope we get plenty more of those!!
