Great game, but can they be consistent. That has been this teams problem. They have a great game then lay a stinker. I am starting to love the Bottom 6 and they are playing great. Not too worried about the Cozens line. There is too much talent there for them to not do better. Although, Cozens and Quinn i think were carried by great JJ play last year. Still think Cozens, Quinn and Benson will find their scoring touch soon.

Last night was what OP was last year. Confident, decent defensively and smart hockey. He will never be a physical defenseman. It is just not him.

Have to say that was one of the best defensive efforts this team has had in a long time. That kind of play can string some wins together. Love to see that!

I do not mean to be a Debbie downer, but i would be shocked if they way this team is playing that they get 3 points in this homestand. Really hope i am wrong but based on the eye test of this team....... we suck. LOL

Ok.... I thought last year, Power was a sound 2nd pair Dman. I thought he played hard, was good defensively. He is never going to be a physical dman. This year, he looks out of position all the time and totally unaware or what is going on around him. That with him refusing to be physical is going to kill this team. I am hoping it is just a funk as i believe he is a skilled dman, but if he does not improve, he needs to be demoted to 3rd pair, new contract or not!

This is 100% not that team. But love the optimism. Is that you Terry? Lol

I would sit Power, Muel, Cozens. All 3 of those cost the Sabres last night and the night before.

I am sorry, most will not like to hear this, but no it cannot be fixed with our current roster. Our roster has already embedded habits. Feed Thompson or Goaloffson for one timers. At any time when they are pressured, they do not know what to do and give the puck away and fold. The current roster does not have the creativity to figure out past a forecheck to do anything on the PP. That is why the Sabres are EASY to play against. They do not forecheck often, they are not physical and do not take the body (Stickcheck only) and they are easy to get out of position and backcheck against. This has been the teams MO for years.

Totally with you on this. I have been a fan since day 1. I LOVE Hockey and the Sabres!!! Every year i look forward to the new season and hope they finally get it right. I will get angry of the stupid play and crappy on ice product that we have in Buffalo until i realize this team is just not worth the aggravation and get numb for the rest of the season and watch other teams. I use my favorite phrase.... Wash, rinse repeat. Life of a Sabre's fan.

We had those.... Eichel??? Reinhart? Better players, same results. This is an organization issue of mismanagement and poor decisions on putting a team together and hiring the wrong managing people. This is what happens when a fan runs the team.

This team has become so dysfunctional they are funny. Sounds like a bunch of good power forwards in the top of this upcoming draft. I am sure they will screw that up too though

Ughhhhh.... another night. As much as i love Hockey, this teams seems to suck that right out of me. Hope for a win and some consistency (and not the losing kind)

You forgot to add that the TNT homers were pretty much a Pens broadcast. Even the first intermission was all about the Pens and we were up 3-1!!!!! Then the refs got involved.... Pens did not wrong and we could not get out of our own way penalty wise..... That was a serious BS night broadcast and Ref wise.

Now that my anger has somewhat subsided.....Some Thoughts and Observations - Many players underperforming and look underwhelming. In no particular order: Dahlin - Just looks lost Power - Does this kid ever use his size and body? Quinn - Does not even look fast this year Cozens - Starting to look like a horrible contract Muel - Another bad contract on the horizon Our Special teams are sickening. Put pressure on the PP, and they fold like a cheap deck of cards. They cannot even get setup in the zone!! The PK refuses to be physical in front of our own net. I thought this team was supposed to be hard to play against?? That is definitely not evident. 5 games and 3 points will not get us in the playoffs, but could get us another top 5 pick to waste on another undersized non physical forward. I really love Lindy but he is going to regret coming back to this tire fire. Not even he can save this team/organization from itself, bad decisions, and poor play.

5 games, 3 points.... way to go Sabres!! 2 of the losses is due to stupid penalties. This team does not want to win.
