  1. last night should cure that: -Conceding the puck when equi-distant as the opposing player -forwards leaving the D zone before the D had clean - collapsing in d zone under heavy forecheck We were in mid season form
  2. I’m thinking if Marner goes anywhere it’ll be to a team he thinks can be a cup contender not merely a contender to get into the playoffs. Sabres drastically need to build credibility.
  3. Getting out hustled to loose pucks. I guess it’s not worth the contact to them
  4. Zone entries have improved exponentially since first 2/3 of the season
  5. Years ago I was a STH for the Syracuse Crunch and most of that time we were the farm team for Columbus. They were bottom feeders and a very soft team. Sound familiar? In 2007 Columbus made a trade of minor leaguers with Anaheim. Going to Anaheim were Mark Hartigan and Joe Motko. Going to Syracuse from Portland were Curtis Glencross and Zenobia Konopka. At the time Portland’s coach lauded the incredible leadership of Knopka. That one trade completely turned around the culture and on ice performance of the Crunch. Konopka’s NHL compare would be an AHL version of Brady Tkachuk. My point is there is hope. We need upgrades but we also need a guy who will knock down walls for his teammates.
  6. Not sure. There is (was) a great sports bar near the entrance to the arena. My wife and I went there for the next to last game in 2015 when Sabres needed to lose to guarantee 1st or 2nd in the Eichel draft. Met a friend and his wife and he and my wife got into an Irish car bomb contest and we never made it into the game. We fit in the BJ fans screaming for the Jackets to win. Actually I nice city.
  7. I’d start with a POHO. A Bruce Boudreau, Ken Holland type.
  8. Is the “sudden” winning a result of Lindy adapting to the team’s skill sets? Their recent play reminds me of the way they played two years ago (but with more forward talent on this roster). DG got axed by changing his system and trying to put more emphasis on defense. Lindy started off even worse trying to implement his system. Common denominator is poor special teams play and a need for a couple big, strong defensemen.
  9. If it took that 2nd to get JBD it’s looking like a good deal
  10. I’d like to see Quinn put on 20+ lbs lbs of muscle and I’m sure his D and board work would improve significantly. Seeing him in T shirts in the locker room shows he needs some upper body work.
  11. If we had a player like Wilson, Sandin would be vibrating against the boards at some point. But we don’t.
  12. Puck management issues sounds way too soft of an explanation. Just say we got beat to pucks, lost board battles and/or coughed them up under pressure.
  13. Semi. They look incredibly disorganized without him. If it was one game okay, but since they’ve lost every game without him…..
  14. As Donnie tried to tell them “you can’t pass the puck into the net”. That hasn’t sunk in.
  15. Apparently Lindy also “isn’t interested” in not coaching to win. Good for him.
  16. I’d like to see at least a big tough top 6 winger and a big tough d man added. Too much to ask.?
  17. Highlight of the last few years was Skinner asking Muel why he had a goal song. Didn’t realize he’d had 3 this year. beat me to it Punch🤣
  18. I think Terry is tired of firing people and seeing no improvement with their replacements. I’m betting he brings in a POHO not currently in the organization and letting that person do what needs to be done.
  19. That shot with Tage celebrating with his line mates made him look gargantuan.
  20. Per above I also compare him to an O’Reilly type and I’d put him between Tage and Zucker for the remaining games to see how he does. His D would complement Tage. I’d separate Tage and Norris based on their goals / assists numbers. Put Norris with Tuch and JJ. Let Kulich center Geeenway and Benson.
  21. Quite possibly the worst defens I’ve ever seen in that goal. Comical actually.
