  1. But….is the current roster the final one?
  2. I think there’s a good chance for a trade for a top 6 winger. Because of Numbers, it would probably have to include one or two guys from our nhl roster - greenway, Krebs, joker…. the top 6 is one short (I don’t view Zucker as top 6 yet and relying on Benson or kulich in the top 6 is asking too much). We’re one injury away in the top 6 of being really screwed and Quinn, tage and Tuch have had injuries. pat Kane would have been a perfect add. I think we need one more trade for a top 6. Think something like Krebs, Rosen, 2015 1st for ehlers. Probably takes more than that to get him though.
  3. Ruff is very much into analytics and always has been. These moves have Ruff input written all over them
  4. It’s easy to discount a player we trade away, human nature actually. Reality is Savoie is a good to very good prospect, I Wouldn’t say great. I hope both teams do well with this trade. Facts about Savoie, which may have made him tradeable in their eyes: 1. He put up a ton of points in juniors year but he should have as a 20 year old. More impressive to me is the 5 points in 6 games in the AHl. 2. There’s something we don’t know that people don’t like about him; 3 minutes of playing time in his one Buffalo game and left off of Canada’s team. 3. His size isn’t ideal and plays more of a perimeter game 4. when the Sabres scouts were watching him after they drafted him they said.”we’d always come away raving about Beneon. He was the best player on the ice.” Weird thing to say and how can this not be taken as a bad thing about Savoie 5. McLeod grew up in Ontario, near Buffalo, Savoie in Edmonton….homecoming of sorts for both. 6. Kulich, Helenius, Östlund and maybe even Whalberg seem better rounded players. Obviously Benson is. Seriously, they may never have had room for him on the roster. Benson is a fixture, Kulich would seem to be next and I think they really want to have Helenius in North America this year. Helenius already has a man’s body (you see his arms) and seriously may be more nhl ready right now than Savoie
  5. Look at McKeod’s QOO and QOT, he played vs a lot of top guys typically with replacement level teammates. There’s some upside offensively if that balances out a bit with Buffalo
  6. You do realize we can trade players and injuries happen??
  7. Unfortunately, so is the guy we took at 14 this year
  8. From a talent standpoint this would make sense. Never going to happen though, as 1. Ehlers and iafallo both walk in a year 2. not getting rid of the one player that wants to play in Buffalo
  9. July 1st….regular season start tomorrow? if it’s the same roster on October, then yes
  10. The Montour and Stephenson contracts are absolutely hideous though. The players are good but not worth anywhere what they got.
  11. Do you expect KA to tell you what UFAs they’re going after? That’s called tampering. Hoping he’s working on something other than Girgensons coming back. why don’t we all relax and wait to see what happens in UFA. If KA sh!ts the bed then we can call for his job
  12. Or your typical 6th rounder. A 6th rounders chance of having a good nhl career is about 7%. I did like the last pick of the goalie. Not sure why he lasted to the 7th round. As we know Levi was a 7th rounder
  13. Peters got kicked of WGR and has a vendetta against the Sabres. Not sure what he has against KA. Just take what he and rivet say with a grain of salt
  14. Stamkos will resign with TB tomorrow - they cleared space the last couple of days to do so
  15. So………how’s KA going to add real players? Like top 4 d/top 6 forward
  16. This board is ridiculous I honestly don’t know this guy, but. young, 26 grit plus big on the PK 2nd rounders have meaningful nhl careers about 25% of the time quit overreacting - we can overreact if he doesn’t acquire any top 6 players
  17. Problem with this is skinner has to be bought out by tomorrow and top 6 ufa’s cant be signed until Monday. Skinner is as good as gone
  18. 2nd round picks are often traded for good nhl players too. Not top line players (without throwing in prospects) but certainly grinders for the bottom 6
  19. It’s also the timing of those trades and the sh&t coaching. This is the time for some infusion of talent via trades and UFA. Let’s see if KA has the balls to make it happen. He should, he’s in a no lose situation - status quo won’t work and his job has to be on the line this year
  20. If KA isn’t trading his 2nd rounders: a. He better have some trades in the works, trading current prospects, and b. He better be a miracle worker at UFA, or c. He’s left the next GM a lot of potential he should also do all he can to trade up and get Elick. He’s a mean SOB, something we’re severely lacking
  21. And the other 5 has him between 11 and 15. A lot of differing opinions on the players in this draft
  22. He’s up to 189 now for what it matters
  23. I like the pick a lot. One of best players in U18s, good size, really good stats in the finish pro league, really skilled, has some grit, really good on faceoffs. My #9 player and we got him at 14. One year left on contract so will be over here in 16 months. i like the pick a lot, I hate the fact we made the pick
  24. Skinner’s buyout adds 7.5m to this so it’s 31m
  25. I’d be glad to have Strome as our 2/3 C but not way I’m giving up that much for him. Maybe something like Rosen and Joker(or Krebs) and a 2nd but for him I’m not giving up #11 or Savoie
