  1. Let the win streak commence with the albatross of their necks. Hehehe...
  2. This could be the defining moment for this team. It’s time to step up and grow up. that said, skinner is an albatross. He’s never been to the playoffs. As soon as he left Carolina, they made the playoffs. I actually love the guy, but…ya gotta face facts.
  3. I predicted in the Habs game thread he would break out, given how close he’s been and how that line is playing. I said in the AZ game thread my expectations were very low for a team win. So, I’m calling it now, Cozens will stay in his slump. 😁
  4. Interesting Granato statements here, pointing out Robinson's play to the team--that's how you F-ing do it.
  5. Their #1 goalie had shutouts against vegas and Caps during their 5 game winning streak. I’m with you on the expectations.
  6. Specifically, Quinn’s return, since it was his spot. Either way, one of Quinn and Benson will need a line, which is a good problem to have.
  7. I'm expecting Cozens to break out soon. The JJP, Benson, and Cozens line has been buzzin, and it's just a matter of time before Cozens luck turns--the time is now.
  8. The line of Cozens, JJP, and Benson have been outstanding the past 2 games. Their fore-checking is creating a lot of chances. I’m of the mind keeping Benson there might be better than adding Quinn when he’s back? put Quinn with TNT and Greenway, keeping Mitts on the first line?
  9. One of my favorite things that tickled me watching some highlights was the Bruin chasing VO on his breakaway. Don't know if he was just completely gassed, or a big, slow D man. or both, but you could just sense the futility in his skating, then see it as he turns around after the goal. A close second, can't remember which goal now, but a few Sabres are celebrating in front of the net and you can see a woman in a Sabres jersey in the background stand up and grab her jersey showing her colors. Brief shot, but gave me a smile.
  10. Yeah that was EJ too. He had an easy pass to someone near the wall and it was hurried, getting passed the Sabre and to a bruin at the blue line. Puck went down low again, and shortly after off EJ’s skate. if the Sabres lose, it will be plays like that from the D.
  11. They want to stay home and watch the Pats go for the #1 pick! As for the Sabres, playing Boston on December 7th doesn't bode well.
  12. Just ahead of some guy named Ullmark with Boston.
  13. That doesn't explain their behavior for much of the season. My sense is there is still too much individual rather than team play, and they too often don't play with purpose, despite what they publicly say. We saw a glimpse of how they could and should play in period 3 of the Jets' game. Last night's win reminded me a lot of the first game against the Flyers, they got lucky against a team that dominated them most of the night. Then, in that second game of the back-to-back, I fully expected them to lose big, as there was no way they'd get lucky again the way the Flyers played. I think the Sabres are in a rough spot right now, and if they don't start playing with purpose every night, then they will put themselves in quite a hole by the time TT and Quinn return.
  14. They also spent a good part of the period forcing passes to Skinner (whenever he was on the ice) trying to get him a hattie.
  15. As a purist: for a burrito or fajitas, yes; for a taco, no. I do accept that flour can be a substitute when you can't find good corn tortillas that allow for a soft shell. In fact, it was near impossible to find good corn tortillas in WNY for a long, long time. When Lloyd's first started their taco truck, I asked where they got their corn tortillas from, and the guy said he couldn't (as in wouldn't) tell me, as the secret to great tacos is a warm, soft corn tortilla (it's why La Divina's are so good). Making a filling is the easy part.
  16. woooo boy, you just lost all (Mexican food) credibility with that one! 🤣
  17. When I first moved to Buffalo in the early 1990s, this and MT were the only game in town. GM's sauce tasted more italian than mexican. The one dish I've had there that is good are the chicken enchiladas with salsa verde. For standard mexican fare, the easiest way for me to tell if their food as whole is good is their rice and beans. If you can't make decent rice and beans, how can you make the rest of it decent? The other indication for me is how good their mole is, or if they make it at all.
  18. I could eat tacos from La Divina on Delaware 5 days a week.
  19. A lot of teams would be happy if either of the next two on the list (Kulich and Savoie)* were their "best prospect in the system". * Listed in alphabetical order, because I'm not sure which one should be ranked second.
  20. Read an article a couple weeks ago about Boston and how moving Pastrnak from the first to the second line helped create more balanced scoring and was one of the keys to their success during the regular season. Given how successful the top line was with Mitts, I won't be surprised if DG tries something similar. Personally, I don't want to see the Cozens line change, but they would be the third line with the second including TT and Greenway--I'm just not sure who should be the other winger? Three lines that could score 80-90 goals each.
  21. Good piece on Greenway in The Athletic this morning: https://theathletic.com/4464552/2023/05/04/can-jordan-greenway-be-don-granatos-next-reclamation-success-with-sabres/ Basically says, Great Guy/team mate, a little stifled in Minny and lost his confidence, going to be in the gym all summer, Granato thinks he's got much much more to offer, concluding:
  22. Does this apply to the playoffs? From what I've seen so far, it's rare when someone doesn't hit.
  23. These last two games have been unbelievable!
  24. One of the best if not the best games of the season!!!
