  1. What a weird trade a month before the draft. This is the kind of deal usually made night of when you see who is available at that spot.
  2. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/news/2024-memorial-cup-how-to-watch-schedule-and-results-matt-savoie-vsevolod-komarov This article says all games will be on the NHL Network for those outside of Canada
  3. Yeah I bet it would be POHO or he becomes GM and Adams becomes President to talk to Pegula everyday. Columbus would be GM, Chicago and Buffalo probably President, Senior adviser. If not Waddell I wonder if there are others that Buffalo is looking at for an upper management role.
  4. On that note I find myself wondering what Sam Ventura and his dept are contributing to the building of this team. I haven’t seen a lot of moves that have pointed to strong analytics being involved atleast at the pro level. Is Adams not leaning on them as much? Be interesting to see how the summer plays out.

  6. I’d trade Joker and try to sign Roy. Byram Dahlin Power Roy Muel Clifton Johnson Roy is a solid defensive dman that can be physical and PK. Would unlock Power to go offensively.
  7. Dreger said on the radio that Elias Lindholm will get $8 million+ in free agency. Avoid that like the plague.
  8. Do you see Helenius as a heart and soul player?
  9. https://vegashockeyknight.com/posts/blockbuster-trades-golden-knights-make-sabres-01hygnywn0kh 😂 Could Adams just call these guys and get these deals done.😛
  10. Boy Canada keeps winning despite Binnington in net
  11. Yep he is being used as Canada’s number 1 dman, QBing the PP and getting some SH time as well. Very confident with the puck and making good choices. I think he has a fair amount of points too. They need to find him a defensive anchor partner that just lets him go.
  12. Wow, Peterka kneed and it looked like it might be devastating but he is still in the game. Cozens and JJ have both been on the wrong end of brutal knee on knee hits this tournament and knock on wood, have come away alright.
  13. Power has looked very good for Canada this tournament. Hopefully is ready for a jump next season.
  14. Wyatt Johnson is a good example of drafting being an imperfect science. He was a talented minor player putting up 94 points as a minor midget in the GTHL. Then his first season in Windsor he only puts up 32 points in 50 games before Covid shut down his season. Nill took the chance on him and he comes back the next year and leads all of junior hockey with 124 points in 64 games and leads the O in playoff scoring. He has never looked back. But for every talented kid that makes a jump like that there are dozens that never make the jump. I would say on the whole Nill and Dallas has done better than any team with its drafting the past 3+ years.
  15. Someone on Reddit did this. A current Sabres lineup made up of only players the team drafted.
  16. Really interested to see how Keefe does in NJ. They are kind of built like the Leafs. Not as top heavy up front. See if he can get them over the hump. He's going to have the same goaltending nightmares there as in Toronto until they pull the trigger on a starter.
  17. Who do you think they are? I can see Demidov going 2 I think talent wise he deserves to go there but I can see teams being dumb liike every year and he drops a few spots.
  18. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/craig-s-list-konsta-helenius-tij-iginla-push-into-top-five-1.2124326 Button has Helenius #3. What a fascinating draft this will be after SJ pick. Celebrini first.
  19. There was no way Granato could be brought back. Yes Ruff was the low hanging fruit for Adams but Granato was gone regardless. Granato back behind the bench meant 8000 people in the stands. They knew that.
  20. Which is why he is unemployed
  21. Trades are where you add impact players to your lineup. UFA is for rounding out the corners.
  22. Ruff has always liked to have a guy who can drop the gloves that can be shuffled in and out of the lineup. I think one of the 4th line/13th forward roles will be filled by such a player.
  23. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/lightning-acquire-ryan-mcdonagh-from-predators-for-draft-picks/ Wow what a strange deal for TB. A team in cap trouble adding that much more to it. Something has to give there this summer.
  24. Cozens scores shorthanded in OT to win it for Canada. 2 more goals today. on 🔥
  25. Hagel scores to make it 3-1 Canada. Not even offering Hagel an entry level deal is such a disgrace. He is exactly what they need, an all compete, all effort guy who produces points
