I agree. Necas is a talented player but I don’t think the fit is great for what they are hoping for ( a productive player that plays hard for 200 feet.)

Losing Marner would really hurt the Leafs. He makes them go. He gets crapped on for the playoff failures but he is a regular season superstar. He is the playmaker that makes Matthews go. If he is gone I think Matthews production tails off. Skinner would do nothing to help that. And Marner PKs where Skinner is allergic to his own end.

Strome is their number 1 centre. Backstrom, 36, had to sit out most of last year because his hip surgery didn’t work. I don’t know if he can come back at all. Strome won’t be available. He has to pass the puck to Ovi for the goal scoring record.
