The whole thing is ridiculous from Jack’s end. His neck is injured. He needs surgery. There is a proven surgery for his injury. He doesn’t want it, he wants a very risky one with no history of its success in hockey. The reason: because he could get back sooner. But this dispute means even if he eventually gets “his” surgery by the time he gets back it will be way later then if he just got the trusted and approved surgery.

Chiefs should be 0-3 right now. They were very lucky to pull it out Week 1.

Teams aren't going to put conditional prospects up in a deal. It will have to be picks with conditions on them.

As long as a high end young Centre is involved then all the picks involved can have conditions.

The fact that the NHL, NHLPA, Sabres and Jack’s camp all got together and had a meeting and nothing was resolved tells me this lies at Jack’s feet. The NHLPA would be very loud in their defence of Jack if they felt the Sabres were railroading him here.

As an aside, I would love the Devils to draft Jack Hughes this year for no other reason then the torment of announcers trying to navigate two Jack Hughes and a Luke Hughes in the lineup.😂

And it sends the wrong message to the team. This guy that says he has to look out for himself, doesn’t want to be on the team, had his agent trying to force a trade publicly, refuses the surgery the doctors approve is still your captain and leader. Wow

A lot of skilled centres to choose from. Wright is the prize though. Kind of a super version of Cozens. Natural born leader, plays the right way, tremendous shot. He is much more skilled then Cozens but I do see some similarities in the leadership/way he carries himself aspect of his makeup.

What were they going to do, keep it a secret? Eichel has put himself in this mess, there is no need to placate him at this point.

Listening to Granato is such a breath of fresh air. He seems direct, authentic and passionate, never trying to B.S. or make it about himself. I think he is the right guy to get through this mess.

How could anyone think Jack still wants to be here. He had his agent out in the media trying to speed up a trade. He refuses the surgery the doctors are approving as the safe solution. Having that guy as your captain would be a disaster. It was the right move to strip him of it and let him sit at home and pout until a trade is made.

When do we hear the results? I thought we would hear by now. For sure tomorrow when he isn’t on the ice.

Dahlin was really blossoming under Granato last season and couldn’t afford to miss anytime to start camp. There was no benefit to Dahlin to sign a max year deal now. The team is in turmoil, 3 years let’s him see where the ship is heading.
