How many players can a team retain salary on in deals in a season, 2 or 3?

I’m not interested in Boeser. His cap hit will be too high for what he brings. JT Miller though😀 Sabres need a top 4 RHD, someone that can partner with Power long term. A top 6 forward that can add some grit and scoring. And we all know about the net. A goalie like a Francouz that can bring stability while the kids develop. With a couple savvy moves this offseason and with some health luck this team should be in a position to be consistently competitive next season.

Not Anderson’s best game but one away from 300 wins now. Mitts and VO starting to get back to normal has given them 3 lines that can contribute some offence. I wouldn’t let Mitts family leave Buffalo now.😁 So nice to have a top line again that is dangerous each game.

He plays the right side regularly for Minnesota and is a better dman than either Bryson or Fitz.

Both Bryson and Skinner are local kids so this was a huge game for them.Especially Bryson who said he has never played in Toronto and had his parents at the game. I think Dahlin rubbing shoulders with other All Stars really has pushed him forward.Seeing he belongs in that group has probably improved his confidence 10 fold. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Hedman told him to be a little more assertive in his game.

Tage is still growing as a player. It is fun to watch. That line continues to roll along and Tage’s confidence grows with each outing. In September who had “The Sabres will trade Eichel but Tage Thompson will step into the number 1 centre role and excel”?

Dahlin is not dumb. He was a young, overmatched dman trying to do too much on a bad hockey team with little support. As the talent improves around him he will look smarter.

Samuelsson is starting to look like he will be a very solid D that brings an aspect to the backend that they desperately need.

I think there will be clarity once the football stadium deal is announced. The Pegulas will talk then and we shall see what is said. There have been rumours that some of the money in the stadium deal will be earmarked to help fix the arena but who knows.

IF the Sabres are sold, the Bills Stadium deal gives me some sense of security. If the Pegulas are investing the Bills and staying on as owners they cannot sell the Sabres to some guy or group that will move them. They would absolutely be eaten alive in the market. They will have to make a deal that keeps the Sabres in Buffalo and looks good on them.

What he said was that multiple sources have told him that there have been talks with interested parties but that the higher ups at PSE contacted him to say that it is not true. There might be interested parties who have approached the Pegulas but they are not interested right now in any sale with minority stake or outright sale.

Reread what he wrote. Pegulas might be interested in selling a minority share but the buyers want to buy a majority share instead.
