In this trade, there is no way the Ducks are trading for Eichel and moving Gibson. Trading for Eichel would mean trying to compete much quicker which means you keep your franchise goaltender. something like Eichel, Risto for Zegras, Comtois, #3, small add would be more realistic.

Hedman is the best comp for playing style. Whether he develops into Hedman’s level I am doubtful but that is the best comparison of his game.

The problem with next year is that you have to make sure their is no conditions on it and I don’t see that happening.

You take the best player regardless of position. They should take Power, he is the number one prospect. Kid is Canada’s number 1 dman at the WCs. He went from no ice time to top minutes in a couple games under a proven coach in Gallant. The lineup isn’t strong but still an accomplishment for sure for a kid who hasn’t been drafted yet. Tune in tomorrow, they play Russia. If they are blowing this up then it is easier to get top end scoring prospects back rather then top shelf stud dmen prospects. And NO, Power isn’t Myers because both are tall. Power has great hockey sense on the back end which Myers never had a lick of.

We know exactly how this will go. Buffalo will pick 2nd. A group of fans will get super excited stating that Power is going 1st and the Sabres will get Beniers 2nd. This will go on until the draft. Power will go 1st and then the Sabres will take someone else 2nd and it will be the end of the world and the universe.
