  1. Agreed and the only way to fix it would be to "hire" a big name ex-GM.
  2. Definition that the rest of his game sucks.
  3. I wonder if the Sabers lead the NHL in the "cast off" category? The only common donominator to me is coaching.
  4. LOL - ok we can add Outlier to the list.. emphasis on lier. First of all - none of us have a crystal ball shoved up our buttkiss. We have no idea how some one will develope or not develop. How long it might take. Should they play in the nhl or a lower league to develop. On average, 49% of players who are drafted by the NHL will “make it” to the NHL — meaning they play in at least one game. Between 1991 and 2000 37% of First round pics played 0-199 games. do we really expect Kulich, Savoie, Helenius, Rosen, or Östlund to outdo that? I dont know, I hope one of them can.
  5. Love how we stereotype players. Top six, Bottom 4, need to be over 6 ft and weigh 285 pounds, wingspand of 20 feet, etc... Cant be good until you are 24. What about these guys and their development (top offensive producers under 23): Jack Hughes Tim Stutzle Matt Boldy Dylan Cozens Dawson Mercer Cole Caufield Wyatt Johnston Matty Beniers Andrei Svechnikov Trevor Zegras Kirill Marchenko Shane Pinto Barrett Hayton Jesperi Kotkaniemi Kaapo Kakko Lucas Raymond Mason McTavish Alexis Lafreniere Kent Johnson Jonatan Berggren Rasmus Dahlin Joel Farabee Kirby Dach Seth Jarvis Jack Quinn
  6. Agreed, they needed to be tougher, more grit, and hard to play against. On paper, Adams went out and did what was needed. Part One was to build up the prospect pool. Two accomplishments. Now it is up to the coach to use the tools presented to him and create a winner.
  7. The Pens signed six players for 4 million today. I wonder how the fan base is doing?
  8. WOW! I guess no different than Owen Power.
  9. OMG—I looked at Cap-friendly, and the team is averaging 30 years of age!!!
  10. Leafs are $700k up against the cap.... They may run out of players by the end of the year.
  11. Nashville appears to be drinking early today.
  12. Stamkos deal looks cheap. Not.
  13. OMG he will be 40 when the contract expires....
  14. The concept of professional sports teams representing a city is often overrated. At its core, it is entertainment, with the athletes essentially being paid actors. However, unlike watching a movie or streaming a show, sports involve competition, a significant selling point for attracting audiences and generating revenue through ticket sales and television ratings. While sports teams may hold cultural significance for dedicated fans, they do not necessarily have the same impact on non-sports fans. Example - Chicken Wings and The Motor City.
  15. If his reputation precedes him, they'll take the call, aware that they won't need to haggle and potentially waste precious time seeking or negotiating other deals. The art of making a deal: 1. Preparation is Key 2. Define Clear Objectives 3. Build relationships 4. Create Value 5. Be Flexible and Adaptive 6. Master the art of persuasion 7. Know when to walk away
  16. Thoughts in a similar place, I don't remember a game I watched where I thought we need to keep him.
  17. Why is it when the Sabers try to move a player, they are the bad guy. The player pushes back, it apperas ownership has no control. Eichel and now Skinner. I realize two totally different situations but similar responses from the players and the impression of bad management and poor decision making. Lack of experience? Afraid to hurt someone's feelings? No kahunas?
  18. Most of us here 'hope' this will happen.
  19. Seems cheap to me. Which would you rather have - Mitts or Skinner?
  20. LOL, Skinner worried about the stench - rumors. who gives a poop, he played in Buffalo for cry'n out loud!
  21. 9 mill for a future 20 goal scorer is alot of money, on the backside of his career. Maybe worth half of that. Call Beane and rework that contract.
  22. Wonder if Lindy was there.
  23. I flip flop on those two. Not sure I wouldn't have minded a youngster playing for either one of them, especially the way the season went.
