  1. Bobrovsky and price are the only ones who might do it. And they both have NMCs.
  2. VP of soccer scouting
  3. So we want to go back to the ownership that wouldn't pay players? Tends to not work either.
  4. If he's going to make 4 million anyway you may as well have him do some paperwork or something
  5. yeah, even if he hasn't been primary a ton. He rotates well, knows where to go to help maintain the zone and kick it back out to jack or VO.
  6. Maybe if price or bobrovsky waives their NMC's to come here.
  7. There's a want by guys like thompson to get there - but thompson just isn't good enough along the walls, and seems to be constantly looking around to see where he thinks he should be. He's just not natural out there and its coming to a point where I don't know that he ever will be. He's the worst passer on a team of bad passers. He needs to focus on checking, and passing. It's tough to make offensive plays when you are with new linemates constantly. Get the pucks to defensemen, and get in front of the net. Simplify it
  8. Hockey in general is weird with injuries. Upper body and lower body were the compromise between coaches outright lying about injuries.
  9. Do they have to report all injuries like in the NFL? I know the NFL rule is if you practice in full and don't have a gameday designation you don't have to say anything (and why would you, it only puts you at a disadvantage for the opponent to know that allen's left shoulder is still bothering him etc.). A lot of players will post-season have surgeries for injuries they had all year long.
  10. He also finished the game. Its entirely possible that after a day or two the swelling wasn't how they wanted and he just has a sprained ankle. Or that he tweaked it during warmups. Yeah, he looked poorly conditioned all year. Even out of the 2 week break. I feel like it probably just swole up after warmups if i had to guess. Jamming a sprained ankle/foot into a rigid skate probably isn't the ideal situation for healing.
  11. Asplunds been bringing some juice imo. Skates hard, trying to put little jolts of pressure on the other team. him lazar and sheahan would be an interesting line combo to me for that reason. His skating isn't great, but that line gets the tougher draws it seems like. They're not great but they're an ok clock killing line against other teams top 2 units.
  12. Yeah. It's just becoming more and more toxic - that eichels a toxic player who has the control to get rid of coaches etc.
  13. Someones gotta send some salary back in that deal. Like the kings have to send back quick... probably carter... maybe even dustin brown. Rangers couldn't fit both with panarin and kreider. Maybe next year after a lot of buyout money comes off the books - but they don't want or need skinner with the wings they have.
  14. Could lead to a career in coaching/scouting/player development.
  15. Pominville used to always do that and it was infuriating. Kane would as well... and theyd miss the net entirely.
  16. At this point - i think he's been given a mandate. Maybe its playoffs or bust? I'm not sure... but he's doing this because he thinks its best for his team and for his success.
  17. That line needs a winger who will drive play and put the puck on net - mitts so far has been doing that. You're only playing 10-12 minutes, the energy line needs to show energy. Finish checks, put pucks on net, get to dirty areas and make it hard for the other team. The point shots with this line on the ice need to be screened, and they need to play a simple game. I'm not sure Skinner is the best guy for this - he needs to play on a different line.
  18. If they want to sneak in the playoffs i assume ullmarks gotta play almost every game. He's in a tough spot. He's not on PP1 like VO, he doesn't kill penalties (which they need if rieder is out ie. asplund), he's not a center, and he's not a shutdown type of player (i don't see it either, but thats kruegers assumption of Eakin/okposo). He should be on the top 2 lines, but hall and VO have those spots. I wouldn't really tough the hall-staal-cozens line, and i don't know where else you can put oloffson where his shot would be remotely useful. So you're not benching eakin/lazar because they're centers. You don't want to take out rieder/asplund and sheahan becasue of penalty kills (if you sit rieder/asplund, you're putting okposo or someone like cozens out there for PKs). So you're left with okposo and mitts. Mitts has put in good shifts in the time skinner's been in the press box, and okposo plays "the right way". It seems dumb, but with mccabe gone, and jack seeming to struggle to find his own game - Okposo has the A and i think RK values (probably overvalues) that.
  19. 2 - I feel like they let you get away with this quite a bit if its close. 3 - Depends on the player, Jack with the long stick and the quick shot needs to be positioning his body to pass and ripping the shot though. You should have your eyes on the goalie though to see what hes doing.
  20. People hate on okposo (justifiably), but this is one thing he's always doing if he has the puck on a change. He dumps, and depending on the length of shift, he'll chase to give everyone time, then hit the bench after.
  21. I guess I think guys like Belichick and Parcells are good coaches, who often clashed with media and offered little in limited media interactions. I know Bill is on like a radio show periodically, but he's always been rather tight lipped about his players.
  22. Is anyone else's sound on MSG a little off? I feel like I was hearing the ping's before the shots hit the post.
  23. So their shooting %'s should be even lower since these arent SOG's.
  24. Disagree. I think a good coach... leads and coaches his team. Not the media and fans. This is an insanely toxic hockey market at this point, they're hanging on every word.
  25. Bill Belichick is a HOF coach who literally says "on to ____" after a loss, and refers to a lot of players by their numbers. I guess some would say he's earned the right to answer the media that way. Do we want him to publicly drag Skinner in the media for whatever it is? Do we want him questioning the heart of our captain? Probably not. I'd rather the issues (if any), stay hidden.
