  1. I think the issue is he might be healthy if he just does his rehab.
  2. Yep. I'd probably take miller to go with strome and georgiev, tack on whatever picks to make it more palatable. Gives you a goalie for a few seasons, center stop-gap, and miller who looked like a pretty good defenseman who slots in behind dahlin on the left. I don't think the team is "better", but at least they'd have a goalie (who gets a chance to start more), a center who can kill penalties and play power play, and a high end prospect who looks to be a solid player.
  3. At this point they need to upgrade facilities. Make this a place where hockey players come to want to play hockey. Same goes for fans, the stadiums a dump. It's dark, dirty, ugly, cold and sad. I got my vaccine there and i just felt like, there is nothing exciting about this place.
  4. Herniated discs don't always require surgery. The team doctor made a recommendation to not do it and just rehab it.
  5. Yeah - I don't expect to see the top prospect in a system. It's a player (or 2 to make dollars work), a high end prospect, and picks. Something more like Strome, Georgiev, Chytil/Miller, and picks. They'll want to keep zibanejad. And the no-gos are likely fox, kaako, lafreniere, and shesterkin.
  6. I think part of the problem is while they definitely haven't been the "cheapest" owners, they have eaten so much money on coach/GM contracts by overpaying and firing people.
  7. I'm at the point now where I'm not sure he's a top 5 center. Just listing out names, and i know Eichel can pop with great plays with the best of them, but I'm not sure he makes the team better than any of these guys would. Mcdavid Crosby Matthews Scheifele Barkov Draisatil Aho O'reilly Bergeron I gotta look out for jack eichel. Without mentioning fans or the team much at all.
  8. It's usually a player, a young player/prospect (not a top one) and picks. Eichel being who he is might get u a higher tier prospect Like Dumba, Boldy, and picks.
  9. When they can't make payroll and file bankruptcy.
  10. Sure - it was also possibly treatable with rehabilitation.
  11. I watched it. He looked sluggish and out of shape. Was this the same injury? I have no idea because hockeys kind of stupid with injuries.
  12. You can look at it from the spectrum of other players and how they would have handled it as well. Many would want to play through an injury, lead their guys on the ice during a coaching transition. Eichel wanted to make sure he was good to go for 2021 season, because deep down he hopes its for someone else.
  13. Eh. I think the captain, under contract for 5 years airing dirty laundry on locker cleanout day is a pretty bad look for a player. He has continued to come off as entitled and uses the media as a power play. I don't think he's a bad guy for wanting out, but if he doesn't get his way is he going to man up and make it work? There's still a good chance he ends up 1C in the fall, is he going to demand a trade (with no leverage)? Hell, when they traded O'reilly the national media picked it up as Eichel is a diva who can't share the spotlight.
  14. They don't want to sell or relocate. There's been a rather large swath of changes made in the last couple of years from scouting, to PSE, to coaching and development. Seems like trainers, team doctors, etc probably also need some new blood. The big issue is a lot of that isn't handled under Adams, who while inexperienced I still trust considerably more than Kim and Terry.
  15. Agreed. That mop top was not a good look.
  16. They're not going to sell the team.
  17. Yeah, he just tends to call it wrong and rob ray will say what it is after the fact.
  18. He's currently shooting at an almost 15% clip in a small sample size, compared to the 2.3% he exhibited in buffalo. His MVP year he shot 14%, and most of his other years he was somewhere around 6-8. I think he's due to regress back to throwing pucks into the glove.
  19. Dunleavy definitely struggled considerably with the video game calling. Not sure if they're still doing that, but he always seems to have no idea why a stoppage occurred.
  20. me too. I've watched this many games! give me what i want!
  21. I think its possible to play good hockey and still lose when you have cozens, borgen, bryson, samuelsson, R2 playing a lot of minutes. That's 5 rookies. Combine that with younger players like mitts, asplund and thompson. And JAGs like sheahan, rieder, and caggiula. They are the least talented team on the ice almost every game.
  22. Yeah.. they had a rough little 3rd period. Reinhart had a brutal turnover that put them in the hole too. He tried to play it cross ice to the dman even though he could see coyles stick in the lane. Either play it into the zone or take it to the wall... cant be doing that.
  23. For me - it was constantly parading cody eakin out there even though it was like 100% clear that he was the worst player on the ice every night.
  24. yeah, you don't have to retaliate right then and there. In fact you don't have to retaliate with that player at all. Level someone else who has the puck.
  25. You only get like a 5% higher chance of picking at 1 anyway. I think a team losing 18 consecutive games and not finishing dead last in a 56 game season is better than the slightly better chance of getting your guy.
