I can't complain about forcing his way to boston, he was absolutely entitled to do so. I was more generally annoyed with his disinterest, and lack of effort for the entirety of the deal. It didn't feel like it was any different approaching the deadline either, he was content to just skate. I don't want to see him succeed for that reason, but also because I hate the Bruins. My ideal scenario here is they get to the cup and lose again so i can see marchand crying sad tears again, with hall crying next to him.

Yeah, and they'd be wise to trade him before then.

Eakin over Larsson: a big blunder by Kevyn Adams
Drag0nDan replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Rieder was also... not great. He had a few goals early when no one could score. But Moving Okposo off of that line and he immediately started putting up points. Addition by subtraction as far as eakin and rieder. Whoever they put there will probably be better. -
I'd think you only get one of boldy/rossi. Dumba has a M-NTC so thats up in the air. Fiala probably wouldn't be made available. Soucy might be interesting, but thats another LHD. I dunno - they have the pieces to make it work, they just have to do it before the expansion draft.
-
Could always dock them some picks too. I think it'd be highly unlikely though - I think Minnesota leads the league with 5, and they have 0 other NTCs.

I actually ate a burger for lunch. I made some big mac sauce to go with it and honestly it tasted pretty good.

Kings deal would be challenging - you almost have to get Quick in the deal (unless they're willing to part with their captain). Because I'm taking on basically dead money - I'd want 1 of byfield/turcotte, and 1 of vilardi/Kaliyev. Which is probably asking a lot - but they'd still likely have centers of Eichel, Kopitar, Byfield for the forseeable future. Get out of 2 years and almost 12 million owed quick. They'd need help at winger but thats a lot easier to fill with all stars and potential all stars down the middle. Buffalo would walk away with at least another center coming back - and flexibility on what to do with reinhart and how to fill out lines. They also get a goalie - albeit a bad one.

If we're going to trade everyone, whats Guy Boucher doing? Maybe he can drag this roster to the playoffs playing a boring trap game.
-
Well... I assume wed get some players back in any of those trades simply because teams are going to struggle to absorb large cap hits without sending players back.

Rikard Gronborg - Swedish national coach and coach of ZSC Lions. But he can't leave until 2022 - at least according to this article. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/coaches/rikard-gronborg. If they really really wanted him I'm sure money talks like every other major sports league, but with Kruegers 2021 salary already on the books I doubt TP is buying out coaches to hire them.

See i feel that way about picassos. But its honestly the sheet pizzas. They cook differently i think.
-
I'm a sucker for fast food when i cheat on a diet. Double whopper with cheese no tomato, large fries, 10 piece and a coke. Sometimes ill get the pie, depends how much i hate myself that day.
-
I had francos the other day that was pretty good. Daddios is usually solid. Just pizza is really consistent which i appreciate. Macy's makes some weird stuff but some of those are really good. I got kinda sick of picassos from when i worked at Ingram Micro and that was like THE pizza there - they even sold it in the cafeteria. You couldn't get away from it! It's been a couple of years and I'm still like ehhhh when someone mentions picassos.
-
I feel like i always have to wait a couple minutes after bocce arrives to eat it. Otherwise its just a mess. And that waiting might be akin to torture.

Barzal at 2/14 plus RFA rights on a still developing player vs. Eichel at 4/40 as possibly damaged goods. Barkov would be cool, as hes likely as good as Jack - but its 1yr 5.9. They're better positioned long-term and buffalo's probably moving barkov at the deadline.
-
Yeah, only challenge is you most likely get less at the deadline than you would around the expansion draft (players teams can't protect, etc.) or pre-season.
-
With that fat 10M cap hit (and reinhart probably getting a raise) you almost have to get some cap hits back. It can be in any form, but i think top priority will be a center in one of those 3 trades.
-
You're probably right... depends how many gaping holes are on the roster, and if the seasons already a waste of time.
-
Rough season probably for all the drafted prospects. He played in the WJC and some AHL games. He also at least went through an NHL camp and practiced with AHL teams for most of the year. I don't think it was ideal at all - but i wouldn't be surprised to see him with the big club next year. I do love quinn's shot though, he seems really natural transitioning from stick handling to shooting. Comfortable around the net. If they keep him in the minors (no idea the rules on if thats allowed), I think they'll try and make him a center, his game seems to involve the center of the ice quite a bit.

I agree with the statement as well, good players find a way. One issue i could see is that they look poor on your nhl team, and then be considered expendable or a trade chip. Theodore and Tuch with Vegas are examples of good players who were moved at a young age thinking they had become a player, and becoming much more with a different role. You could say the same about buakovsky, hartman, Teräväinen are also similar kind of players.
-
There's obvious exceptions. When you watched eakin play for long stretches the team was clearly desperate for another center. I dont care if the guys 18, you need to play the best guys. Don't hide a player in the minors if he's better than a guy on your roster. Irwin is fine as a 7th guy (assuming you had everyone healthy to start the year it should have probably been miller). You want Bryson to get playing time I get it. But when McCabe goes down for the year, it isn't irwins chance. It's brysons chance. Trade Montour, bring in borgen full time. Kruegers vet obsession was a little over the top because it ended up keeping fringe NHL players in lineups far longer than they should.
-
The charts all said he was similar in his D+1 which makes no sense. Briere had a 47, and rossi had a 0.

I think with goalies the key is playing time. You don't develop playing like 20 games as the 2nd goalie, so it makes sense to play in the AHL where you can get more starts. If the team is trying to make the playoffs (which should be every teams goal), you tend to want to keep developing players in the minors. They tend to need to find a more complete game, they need to learn timing and how to play more effectively without the puck, get used to the travel and physical toll of a longer season, and just generally learn to be pro's. If the players skating and ability mean they can do that in the NHL - great. But some of these kids are 18 and they look like they're 15. They're used to skating around everyone and it just doesn't translate to the NHL where everyone's bigger and faster. Then you have guys like thompson who struggled with playing time. Who knows if he's an NHLer because he barely played sometimes. And yes, sometimes the shifts were awful or uninspired, and his trends looked terrible. If you're going to play him 7 minutes a night with cody eakin, then he should play 16-18 in the AHL imo.

I'm curious who really pounded the table for Quinn. It sucks that he'll always be compared to a former teammate, it isn't like its his fault he was drafted higher. The only thing that doesnt make sense is how the comparisons factor in a Development+1 year considering rossi didn't play hockey this year.
