  1. What if the Sabres fall to 10 or 11 and the best RHD's and C's are gone. What do you do?
  2. Let's be concrete: Suppose the Islanders win the lottery. They move up 10 spots. Then New Jersey wins 2nd place. They go to 2nd? A more baffling example: Suppose the #12 team wins the lottery. They move to #2. Now a bottom 10 team wins 2nd place. They go where?
  3. Honestly, LVGK should try for Trotz. Their defencive positioning at the end of the year was not good. How that plays with Eichel and others,...
  4. I know. I worry that he expects that it is not necessary to have a clear #1 goalkeeper because someone will magically emerge in the playoffs.
  5. If we go with Pekka-Lukkonen with just Anderson or Tokarski with Subban with Houser or Tokarski, I might come around to someone else's theory that Adams does not value goaltending like you do, let alone how I do (because of how Carolina won the Cup).
  6. This is mind-blowingly stupid. The start of the year killed their chances this year. He did an acceptable job given the circumstances.
  7. Are Bandits games on the radio?
  8. Has he been working on it, or is he just not suited for the playoffs?
  9. I would prefer more youth in Rochester. I imagine that the Sabres will fill the Amerks with vets.
  10. Good luck to him.
  11. The over-exposure of fantasy sports and gambling during games have detracted from my enjoyment of games. My lessened interest over the past decade or so is in part due to these trends. I wonder how many are like me.
  12. It may not. Maybe he has a flaw in his shot that NHL goalkeepers can read. That's what happened to Pat Falloon. When you can see the whole ice, you can really see how good Asplund is defencively.
  13. On that tape I have of the "Thank you, Sabres" game, the fans themselves start, "Ooh! Ahh! Sabres on the warpath!" Norm Wullen then joins the fans in their chant. I also have a hockey history book which clearly shows signs in the Oranges in the Aud which contain the chant. So who had it before the 1973 playoffs?
  14. I don't know if this is a great idea, but we could bring in players who are still solid but maybe a bit overpaid. I am thinking of someone like J.T. Compher, except that they would be defencemen and goalkeepers. Is this a good idea? If so, who qualifies?
  15. You can see many of our problems during the Disgusting Decade by looking at that defence.
  16. After recovering from his near death, once Housley put him with Larsson and Girgensons, Okposo has been one of the most effective Sabres game-in and game-out. It did not always turn up on his side of the score sheet, but he certainly helped inhibit the opposition on the score sheet.
  17. Welcome back! And I completely understand your sentiment.
  18. Welcome back! Welcome back!
  19. Moreover, I have read fans on other boards say the same things about Zadorov that we said about Ristolainen, only less intensely.
  20. This team is clearly behind the elite. Improved goaltending should get them to the level of this season's Islanders, Blue Jackets, Canucks, and Jets. I personally would prefer Bryson, Fitzgerald, and Pysyk in the 7/8 roles next season. One thing that must improve is forward depth. We must improve on Eakin, Bjork, etc.
  21. Seconded on @Doohickie. Enormous. Over the past few years, going back to even DDB, I saw things in the interviews that I really did not like. Last season's interviews were the perfect horrible culmination of a disastrous season.
  22. This is going to get interesting. We might need to lose a couple of guys we like to really improve the team over the next couple of years.
  23. My wife is awesome. I am very lucky. That's why I tell her to go out with her friends and not to worry about me.
