  1. If true, happy b-day RJ!
  2. I would not worry about this until someone actually is forced to do something.
  3. Just re-inforcing your point. In particular, I like how you put the issue.
  4. Welcome. Very different initial post.
  5. Welcome back! Welcome back!
  6. It's because if he had not played OK when he was first out of college, then they think that he was responsible for the Ryan O'Reilly trade. Think of him as the current version of Tim Connolly ca. 2003.
  7. Sad to say, both of these are true. I had to laugh in the vein of, "nervous acknowledgement of an uncomfortable fact."
  8. Welcome back!
  9. If Edmonton had wanted him, I would have traded Perreault to the Oilers as a favour.
  10. I eat filet mignion seven times a day. My bathtub's filled with Perrier What can I say? This is the life!
  11. Hello! Glad to see you posting.
  12. Yup. I checked the projected line-up again. I'm wrong. Quinn and Peterka should be in Buffalo even if the Sabres get someone like Compher.
  13. If they start having continued success, they will have earned it.
  14. Funny. I was thinking the same thing. I would rather have Peterka and even Quinn get top line minutes in Rochester until the inevitable happens and they come up and stay. Meanwhile, a checking line including 3 of Hinostroza, Girgensons, Asplund, and Compher could drive other teams even battier than the LOG line did.
  15. No. Every team starting with 2013-4 had numerous glaring holes. For me, the real question is how will the team perform if the 5th line and 4th pair are pressed together into extended service? This has killed us for a decade. I hope you are right.
  16. Sorry I missed you joining. Welcome! I know a few realistic Dolphans. They find tgat most other local fans are out to lunch. You are not kidding.
  17. Just musing: how much of the Leafs' fans' delusions are driven by wish-casting coupled with getting their tires pumped by a seemingly overwhelming majority of Canadian hockey media? We are used to being rooted against by Toronto-based and New York-based hockey media. Thus, any over-exhuberance will be punctured gleefully by the talking heads. But that also keeps us grounded. On the other hand, fans of the Maple Leafs have no such dust sullying their views through their rose-coloured glasses. Indeed, they are likely to be told any legitimate self-analysis of their team's flaws are just unfounded pessimism while external critiques are based on envious fans in other markets or anti-Canadian bias. It is hockey's version of the upstate-downstate divide.
  18. For the price and term Qadri can command, I think that I would rather get the players other teams would have to move to fit him in instead of Qadri.
  19. Virtually every team used their 3rd string netminders extensively last year and many teams used their 4th. Given the likelihood of Anderson getting injured at his age, I like the idea of Houser being #5. Of course, I would like it even better if Portillo signed and made Houser #6 (not Patrick McGoohan).
  20. When was the last time that was true? Was Lindy Ruff coach?
  21. Serviceable AHL/NHL depth. I like it.
  22. I like him. As a #5, he is beyond adequate.
  23. Tokarski and Hauser are fine for #5 and #6 in Cincinnati. I could deal with them each for a couple of games in an emergency.
