  1. They had it back in 1999 at least.
  2. Oh, wow. That is bad. I feel badly for everyone who has been working towards your success.
  3. GMs have been saying that is all they would need: at a crucial point or 2, where the evaluation suddenly rises, they would know to look deeply at "computer moves" to find the key move. It is why transmissions of the games to the outside world are delayed 15 minutes.
  4. I actually wanted Comrie in with most of the main defencemen to work on their communication under game conditions.
  5. Apparently not by Niemann. I should have mentioned that Niemann confessed to some cheating before. Players are suspicious of him.
  6. What makes it more suspicious is that Hans' lead trainer, Maxim Dlugy, is a known cheater.
  7. I hope you can enjoy yourself. I will miss having one less person who has the same memories of the Sabres which I do.
  8. Term is subjectively mediocre.
  9. I personally had mentally slated that game as part of the stretch run because it was the first game of March. It looks like cherry-picking because it comes after a losing streak. Addendum: we should temper our optimism from the end of the season given that: 1. of the 9 regulation losses, 7 were by 3 goals or more; 2. The Sabres won fewer than 14/28 games in regulation. Having said that, I think this team can make the playoffs with good goaltending and the maturation of the youth.
  10. Thank you. I wanted you to know that I still back you 100% on this.
  11. That's why I like the 12-9-7 breakdown. It feels like a more accurate representation of where the team actually is. I would be more confident going into the season if we had 14 regulation wins in those 28 games instead of 12 because that is more legitimately a clear playoff pace. The blowout losses are also a cause for concern. To be honest, I don't like the 28 game bracket because I am not at the point where its statistical significance is good enough (rule of thumb in 1986 was 34 records). The upside is that the overall talent at forward, defence, and goal is significantly better, albeit with less experience. That trade-off probably hurts the Sabres early in the season but should help later on.
  12. In the last 28 games, the Sabres: Won 12 games in regulation; Won 3 games in overtime; Won 1 game in a shootout; Lost 9 games in regulation; Lost 1 game in overtime; Lost 2 games in a shootout. The optimists see the 16-9-3 record for a 102.5 point pace. The pessimists see 12 wins in regulation in 28 games. Both versions have some merit. (Me? I look at it as 12-9-7 like we used to.) Fully half the team's wins last season were in these 28 games. They played a gauntlet of mostly playoff and bubble teams. In other years, they probably lose 16 games in the 28.
  13. That's the thing. We were 2 points up on 7th. 86 points looks right, but it could be 7th.
  14. I have two criteria for good teams. 1. Good teams can win even if they don't play well. 2. Good teams beat other good teams on the road. This win was ugly and not something to brag about. But winning games like this is what good teams do.
  15. Seconded. Mods?
  16. Thanks for the correction.
  17. IMHO, that would be a bad idea. I hope you are wrong.
  18. Tell me it's not just me: the last time both the Sabres AND Americans both looked as competent as they do now was 2000-1, right?
  19. I feel good about the Eichel trade every time I see Alex Tuch on the ice. Krebs et al. are just frosting and icing on the delicious cake. Having said that, I wish Jack Eichel well.
  20. Call it a training year for the defenceman to learn, um, defence?
  21. Where did the "confused" emoji go?
  22. In this case, Sheahan, Peterka, Krebs, and Quinn are so obviously more deserving of a place on the NHL roster that I hope that GMKA and HCDG send Bjork to Rochester to show the othere guys that they deserve to be here and that no spots were unearned. I hope.
